MADONNA AND KYLIE - Love Sensation (1 Viewer)

What position in the Raw Sales Charts though? They, came, they sharted, they conquered (Pride season). Liposuck the stagnant playlist stuff that hang around like debris stubbornly resisting hours of douching and you have a hit frankly.

I don’t understand the physical bit. When are they likely to be added? This week? Next week? When they ship?

I miss the days of Woolies and HMV!

When they are marked as shipped. It will get a boost today but the question is...how much of one?

That's why asked about BYL to see whether there is a frame of reference.

Just Googled it and it seems Bring Your Love debuted at #29 with 13,557 sales.

This might end up with comparable sales. I have no idea how well the CDs have sold.

BYL has no physicals but it was the first proper single and it had Sabrina so there was a lot of streaming

If Love Sensation outpeaks it with the Kylie and physical effect that is already a triumph and a win

Never underestimate the power of Kylie's UK fanbase when physicals are thrown their way with her name and image on the cover. Madonna fans might be a bit unpredictable as they have been offered abysmal physical single options to purchase since the late 00s.

They really messed up by not having 7" and 12" singles ready to go too. I know there's a lead-in deadline for vinyl production, but even a couple of thousand would surely have been doable.

Vinyl can take months to manufacture, I’m assuming that would have delayed the whole release.
The duet was done by the time of the Graham Norton special, though. While not claiming myself as a record company expert, I would have thought Warner could have pressed some thousand units of vinyl ready to go for a major Madonna campaign.

Who knows, maybe they're saving that for the next single (Bizarre possibly)? So far this campaign has been a wild ride of giving the gays everything they want but on MUTHA's terms, and I live.

OK so word on the UKMix street is that they'd need at least 12K CD sales to make top 10 - which seems unlikely. If the CD sales do count (and I think they will) I believe the best we could hope for would be top 20, which I think it's still fantastic to be honest considering this is actually a remix of a promo single from an album that's been out for over a month.

omg at the CD :D
It's meant to be a tribute to late 90s/early 00s CD-Rs !!! (i.e. you should thank your lucky stars the gay intern didn't misspell Love Sensation in time for the CDs to be pressed, packaged and SHIPPED before the chart cut-off!!)

I've received mine.

It seems this was a charitable gesture on Kylie's behalf because apparently she doesn't appear courtesy of Darenote or BMG or anyone else! :D

That will never fail to make me guffaw

And the fact that they have never changed it

With the singles chart being a joke these days, who would mind K+M scamming their way to the top 40 from this point on by using similar strategies. Just have physicals ready to go in week 1 and celebrate the highest debut possible. They'll never win with streaming, so why not play the game to their strengths. Just get chart peaks that look good on paper, then fuck off spectacularly.

Some may argue Kylie recently tried this aggressive release approach with My Oh My and Lights Camera Action and fell flat on her face, but there's also this prerequisite songs should actually be good for a fanbase to back them full heartedly.
