So I just found out about this fringe far-right group "Uri Tzafon" who's pushing for Jewish settlement of southern Lebanon, and they circulated this bogus map of Southern Lebanon but with Hebrew renames.

It's just a fringe movement, which is why it's only being reported by activists/commentators/rags, but I fully expect it to become mainstream (f not straight up national policy) because Israel already has a strong precedent for the settlement of non-Israeli land as a geopolitical tactic AND because some people IN the Israel government explicitly support it. Anyone read about them? They've been around since 2024.

Within the context of the rules, I can't see any point asking the poster to remove it, so its a ban that can be reversed if/when the rest of the mod/admin team see fit. I''m sure joanne knew exactly what they were doing.
 
I gotta say I didn't enjoy being tagged in that. I didn't engage, but that's the second time I've been accused of antisemitism on here. Equating antizionism with antisemitism is a really dangerous action. I and I hope others shouldn't have to go on the defence for criticising and sometimes just reporting on a genocidal state. It actively shuts down ALL conversation on the matter. So I'm glad they got banned and I hope the other one goes too ASAP, who is guilty of much worse on here.

The deal isn't "dead", but it's extremely shaky.

The worst thing Trump has done is he's now turned denuclearization and the Hormuz Strait into the Irani regime's most valuable bargaining chips. Because in typical authoritarian fashion, the regime will now leverage them to bargain for reduced sanctions, which will strengthen their barbaric government and allow them to get away with oppressing and killing the Irani population scot-free. A nuclear deal was already a bargaining chip, of course, but Trump has foregrounded it and made it more salient.

I keep thinking what a shame it is that such an educated people like the Iranis are being ruled by a bunch of warmongering religious thugs.
 
They’ve picked out some random defence by Palestinians to announce a new settlement so I guess bombing the mosques and farmland is the easiest place for them to start. This is of course just a few days after they bombed a family in their home and basically said that the tactical victory outweighed the deaths of the children. Nothing new really. Especially the lack of interest from the rest of the world.
 
They've never really stopped repressing Palestinians throughout the history of their existence.
 
The Israeli settlements are absolutely outrageous. Just demolishing whole communities and replacing them. Why is no-one stopping this?
 
It's been widely condemned by UK, Canada, France, Germany and Italy, but that's about it. We've entered the next phase of the long game. Won't be long now before Kushner arrives with his measuring tape and crates of cash. En route to his peace keeping missions, obviously.

I think it would cause major disruption to European tech and healthcare industries and I guess send the prices of those products up.
