It wasn’t as good as I was expecting I was genuinely expecting it to be a new Roger Rabbit, but the human characters just weren’t anywhere near as good. The story was fun, but not enough for a feature length film. Loved Wile E Coyote when he was on screen though.

wasn't it a tax write-off and then eventually some brave company bought the rights to release it? This movie is at least 5 years old!

Yes WB decided it would make more money by not releasing it (the movie industry is a fucking joke etc) until test screenings rated highly and that swelled into condemnation of WB’s decision which turned into a campaign to get it sold.

This movie will make money digitally I would imagine. Very much like He-man it’s probably a strategic purchase. I wish the industry would stop labelling movies flops when they don’t turn gate receipts into hundreds of millions in profit. The industry doesn’t work like that anymore and the constant negativity needs to go away. Coyote is a rare success story in an industry that is squeezing the soul out of itself.

Whoops. I only half read the story and thought it came out last week to no fanfare but it was preview screens in the UK and it gets a US release this week.

It's officially released on the 27th here. Very BOLD of them to have a cinema release too; I thought it was a shoe-in for streaming.
