Speculate Wildly About Enya

[disneyteletubby]

@Enya Dearest nice profile picture change!

Enya remembers how hyper she was that evening, grinning and chatting away.

[disneyteletubby]

If it weren't for her career and moving away from home, Enya would've probably been in the shadow of her mammy quite a lot.
(She still kind of is in that clip; En regaining composure whilst Baba waves jovially. It'll be her 96th birthday in 9 days. )

@Enya Dearest Отличная смена аватарки!

Эния вспоминает, какой она была энергичной в тот вечер, улыбалась и болтала без умолку.:смех:

Aww thank you Such a wonderful gif

I wonder what she's saying

[disneyteletubby]

I wonder what she's saying

Maybe she's telling Mayumi something about the cultural activities (dancing or performing?)

[disneyteletubby]

Enya remembers walking with Moya to attend a U2 concert on this day 29 years ago. She didn't care for most of the set list, but there was this wonderful moment that stood out.

Spoiler: MLK sung as a tribute to Diana

♡

[disneyteletubby]

Enya was watching The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on TV. The general British bits were obvious and Germany was a bit of a joke there but cool to see New Zealand, Qatar, the USA, and of course the Scots themselves.

Enya knows she can't blow the Scottish bagpipes too well (not even the Irish pipes haha).

[disneyteletubby]

On this first of (meteorological) autumn, Enya hopes to go on a walk around Killiney Bay and enjoy the evening breeze. Autumn leaves come later (like late October).

[disneyteletubby]

I also wonder if Enya and the Ryans had a home computer+keyboard in the early-mid 1980s? Maybe the ZX Spectrum if they bought one before 1985

[disneyteletubby]

Enya was a 90s gamer

And of course, this

I still imagine Enya playing video games in the 80s and 90s especially.

[disneyteletubby]

Then again if Enya was on a show like this, being referred to as some 'sex siren' every other minute, she'd sue them.

Nice haircut though (but the misogyny I mean even this place needs to improve)

Spoiler: This was where I found it

A question here

Natalie Imbruglia: “I’m grateful for Olivia Rodrigo’s stamp of approval”

In Does Rock ‘N’ Roll Kill Braincells?!, we quiz an artist on their own career to see how much they can remember. This week: Natalie Imbruglia

www.nme.com

I think that's a trauma thing how she forgot rather than ADHD itself.
Haha Atari is the only one I played (on Google though )

[disneyteletubby]

Enya's most interview without singing was probably this 'welcome to Korea'..!

Spoiler

That must've felt so uncomfortable with barely any translation, and only only a few reasonable things in English (not the kid thing). And the shouty one too

She has also decided to forget it ever happened.

[disneyteletubby]

Along with South Korea (maybe, assuming they have sharper hosts now) Enya is considering some new (and relatively safe) places in the world to promote the album, where she has a big fanbase. I know she did Poland and South Africa for Dark Sky Island. I'm thinking others like Hungary, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Cape Verde, Mexico, and of course Brazil.

"Sex siren" ha ha I like it

Enya was probably shocked by their tactlessness.

[disneyteletubby]

I don't know if Enya went back to Korea since if she has (not for promo) maybe the trip involved seeing one of the K-pop bands

[Shoat]

Enya's love for South Korea has finally been rewarded as she's named LEAD SINGER of the HOT NEW RELAUNCHED Blackpink line-up.

Lewis Capaldi, road rage killer Tracie Andrews, and space capsule entrepreneuress Miss Big Alumalumo will be her backing members.

[disneyteletubby]

Enya is not okay with (the concept of) Enya being done/retired.

doesn't matter if the debbie downers of Reddit who like Enya think it's over just because Nicky’s gone.

[disneyteletubby]

Somewhat reinventing herself (or reverting to film/television music) is fine but being completely done with music and moving into a retirement home (like her almost 96-year-old mother) is absolutely not on the cards before 2036.

[Shoat]

Enya refuses to accept the premise that SHE alone is entirely in control of her retirement or non-retirement, and if she just GOT OFF THE SOFA once in a while to record herself humming for three minutes she'd top the New Age charts for another five years

[disneyteletubby]

Nah Enya has an internal locus of control (you succeed with hard work, own decisions etc.)
I'm somewhere in the middle but lean towards the external 'it's fate/luck' haha.

[disneyteletubby]

Enya is glad that her timbre change wasn't accelerated by smoking (and probably glad that she didn't release a song Catastrophe showcasing it).

How do you know her mother is in a nursing home?

Wait not a nursing home, maybe a residential care home, or simply retirement home. I don't know the source but it was mentioned somewhere by some member of the family. Wherever Baba's staying, she's well/alert, and watched Moya's funeral livestream there.

I thought her many children and grandchildren were taking care of her and that she was living with them...
Enya probably visits her often.

[disneyteletubby]

Enya is kind of glad her mother is sat down these days, rather than standing a few inches above her (even at 75 in this picture).

Spoiler: Enya and her parents (2007 honorary degree graduation at Ulster University)

Even with 4-inch heels on in 2016 (her dad Leo's funeral) Enya only just reached her mother's height.

Doesn't work like that for most of the UK and Ireland haha, if they can afford a good care home they send them off. I also think she'd wanted her own space and doesn't want the family doting on her too much.

Enya probably visits her often.

Yes, or they have a good chat every once in a while.

I must say she looked stunning in those 4-inch heels...

I can't find if I've shared this here before but Enya actually flew from Australia in late 2005 to accompany her mother for a heart operation.

Spoiler: This article ❣️

Enya's Joy - EnyaBlues

Music superstar Enya was overjoyed last night after her elderly mother survived a life-saving operation. The singer kept a two-week vigil by Baba Brennan’s bedside after the 80-year-old had vital heart surgery. And the reclusive star, who made a 12,000-mile... Continue Reading →

(Not speculating here, aside from Enya would stop celebrating Christmas if it were to save a family member. )

Let's hope that Enya has the same strong health as her mother.

[disneyteletubby]

Enya is watching Queen at the BBC on what would've been Freddie Mercury's 80th

[disneyteletubby]

Enya is writing a teaser trailer script.

[disneyteletubby]

Enya thinks Aurelius is an interesting name. She wouldn't have thought John and Yoko's only grandson would have entered the world in 2026..!

Enya will probably be over 70 when one of the nieces and nephews have children. Though becoming a godmother for the 2nd time at 50 is sweet. 🕯

SHE HASN'T DONE ANY WORK SINCE 2015!

[disneyteletubby]

Enya maintains that however busy or 'lazy' fans assume she is, attending at least 5 funerals in 10 years is definitely hard work.

[disneyteletubby]

If she were to go on the much-anticipated Celebrity Traitors Ireland, that's another matter.

Maybe Enya would be a grandma now if she’d had a baby back in ’96...

Then again just about all the family (except the parents) seemed to be older when they started their own families, most nearer to 40. I think Olive would've been the youngest age when she became a parent, but she was about 32, definitely no younger than 30. It would be strange if any of Enya's nieces and nephews currently under 25 had kids. (Enya's parents were kind of young though; Baba was 21 when she had Moya, and Leo was 26.)

[disneyteletubby]

Enya has speculated wildly about her parents. Many things, including the possibility that they're both gay (if they hadn't found each other and had 9 kids things would be very different..!).
