Even if she is, it seems somewhat hidden and doesn’t feel like this whole 23 weeks at #1 really is related to that at all - more just people trying to explain it away when it is a chart issue, not a song issue.

Honestly, I also think it's no coincidence that both the UK and US records have been broken this year, by different songs that both tick all the boxes on 'well composed, accomplished, but ultimately not that exciting background music by clearly objectively talented people with bona fides in their genre' - I think it probably reflects that this year has been a bit of a dead zone for big releases with mass appeal that could have challenged those reigns on a sustained basis.
