I watched footage of their non-royal non-working visit to some place full of commoners last week and thought, genuinely - what are they doing? why do public appearances as ex-royals? is this all so they can be granted paid security detail?

she's a complete charisma and sincerity void in search of purpose, and he doesn't seem able to be happy outside of the institution he hates, and which hates him. that makes me sound like a royalist but i'm not. there's just something quite sad about the whole thing.

I guess they've acknowledged that her Netflix path was a flop, so they went back to Harry's more traditional role. He kinda has his own thing going on with the Invictus Games. I don't know what else.

I see what you mean - they're now working parallel to the royal family. They absolutely get the crowds, by doing similar stuff. I guess they have more autonomy out of the Windsor Mob.

I completely get why he wanted to leave such a toxic environment, but equally it's all he knows and it's so unique in what it is that it can't really be replicated - he's got way too much time on his hands and his brother is being a dick to him - although I totally get it on the breach of trust stuff from writing a book - you couldn't tell him anything, but none of this is helping the public perception of William either, who, as the future King, really needs to be the bigger man and make his move to at least get a few play dates in for the kids.
