It’s above average :heathcliff:

She has loads of far better songs that I prefer

Pop Crave coming through with the copy paste :disco:

I've really done a 360 with Poker Face after being obsessed 08-10 and then abandoning it/The Fame for a good decade plus. what a song. also this hot trashy gay remix is everything

This song will always be burned into my psyche as the sound of my true gay awakening / first few months living in London. A cultural reset.

OK so is it an urban myth or was I really today years old when I found out she actually sings FUCK her face in the chorus repeat?

Happy Birthday to the moment she BECAME MY MOTHER FIRST, ROSE :kim:

Let's celebrate with a video that makes me GENUINELY EMOTIONAL because I'm TOO GAY TO FUNCTION

It was, is and will always be a moment. It took over the world and said "move over, I'm here".

god the performance from Mayhem Ball and specifically the Rio + Coachella shows is just... showstopping, never done before, etc. GORGEOUS! not all the girls can be visual artistes!

as for the song I love it much more than I have at any point since 2009 when I probably overdosed on it.

I'm fairly sure I first became aware of her via moopy. And then I heard Just Dance and thought yes, it's really good, but I don't really get why people are going insane over her. Then someone told me about Poker Face, and I heard it.

Then I understood.

Just Dance could have been her one and done and I'd have been like "thank you very much Gaga", but Poker Face wasn't just a one two punch, it flattened the entire pop landscape for Bad Romance to burn it to a crisp for a new thriving pop world to emerge out of. She re-set pop culture, the biggest bookmark moment since the Spice Girls (although The Fame Monster landed as her instant gratification Immaculate Collection in terms of ascent and jackpot smashing). That almost every TV performances of it was somehow different from the last also made her absolutely unmissable.

The Fame/TFM Imperial Era really was something to behold. It ripped a hole in the fabric of space and time that I don't think any artist has done since. We can't talk about all kinds of smash eras that have followed (Teenage Dream, 21, 1989, Future Nostalgia, When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go), but I can't think of a single once that rebooted culture in quite the same way.
