In a packed edition, I've just made eggs, and we are off to have a nice meal later - whoop!
I did. Cluck CLUCK!'Making eggs' sounds like you laid them
I don’t mind a little nosey in Primark and Wagamama makes me happy but Build A Bear is to close to some kind of fur eugenics for me to cope with.Coming home from taking a great niece to Cardiff for the day on the train. After a Saturday of facing Primark, Wagamama and Build A Fucking Bear, I'm looking forward to getting home and lying in a dark room with a flannel on my forehead.
Yes. The crows are going mad in the trees. Its terribly beautiful.QUITE A LOT OF SQUASH
I only had a cheap one for 18 months, before it gave up the ghost.I'm off to purchase a BLENDER today. My last one is elderly and I'm going to have put it down (into the trash).
Oh we get well trained in pushing, pushing, pushing at every opportunity. Thankfully I've only 2 shifts left. My colleagues & manager are great, but I've had my fill of both the insane level of corporate greed & the handful of whinging entitled parents.Build A Bear wasn't SO bad except for all the endless add ons they attempt to sell you. And unfortunately in my case, successfully.
I really felt like I should have just handed over my debit card to the young girl (who admittedly was lovely - but then I'm sure they know that will drive the sales) and said 'knock yourself out, love'.Oh we get well trained in pushing, pushing, pushing at every opportunity. There's a massive laundry list of things you need to do with customers (including acting like Santa Claus on CRACK) & if these aren't met, or enough people don't sign up their email at the till, they send 'letters of concern' home that your role is under threat (I've never had one but a couple of the 16 year olds working there have - it's an empty threat really but it's pretty awful to scare kids in their first job like that) - it's also minimum wage with a contract that says you only do 4 hours a week. If it's a quiet day, & your 4 hours are done, they can send you home to protect company profits or cancel the shift entirely.I really felt like I should have just handed over my debit card to the young girl (who admittedly was lovely - but then I'm sure they know that will drive the sales) and said 'knock yourself out, love'.
I ended up spending just under £60 on a bear that was one of the cheaper ones in its unstuffed state. And it could easily have been a fair bit more than that.
