Ryan Murphy will make her a raging nympho lesbian that has an affair with her step-mom or something I imagine

And there was Christina Ricci

Honestly I am TIRED of these RETREADS.

I know she is an ICON but her story is really so basic there isn’t much you can do with it. There are much more interesting killers to go with that have more meat on the bones.

Oh and of course, Ryan Murphy sticks to his trope of casting NEPOBABIES.

I only needed to see the cast list to know it was a Ryan Murphy gig

Being Ryan Murphy, I assume he will have Charlie Hunnam shirtless and sweaty in a misguided attempt at erotism whilst he axe-murders pigeons

I assume Emma Roberts will turn up, maybe as one of said pigeons

I’m waiting for Kaia Gerber starring as Aileen Wuornos next

Didn't Murphy already do Aileen in AHS?

The man needs to get NEW ICONS

Why all the sudden interest in this old case again? I just saw this the other week too. There was also a film a few years ago with Chloe Sevigny.

I’m 2 episodes in and it’s actually pretty good so far. I’m sure since it’s Ryan Murphy (and what has been in the previews) it’s going to get pretty awful.

Let me clarify actually : it’s a good story if you don’t think of it as THE Lizzie Borden we all know. It’s changed quite a lot so far and would be better off just being “inspired by”. Again, I know we are going to be getting some time travel or whatever so I’m waiting for it to run off the rails.

The first of the Monster series was actually excellent but the Ted Bundy one was awful - particularly Charlie Hunnam’s accent.

Did someone say Rebecca Hall is in this?? One of my absolute favourites!

Ed Gein, not Bundy.

Rebecca Hall is great in this, although she's basically a pantomime villain.
Vicky Krieps (who is unfortunately a bit problematic) is also very good as a scheming Irish woman with a German accent.

And yeah, this is about as close to the real story as Disney's Pocahontas.

Here’s an example of Hall’s character/performance:

That’s it sorry! I’ve always got those two mixed up 😂

Ok I finished the series and here are my final thoughts :

1. I still say that the main storyline of Lizzie is pretty good if you keep in mind a lot of it is not factual to the actual case. Considering we don’t know (and never will) what happened in that house, a bit of fluffing it up isn’t a bad thing.

2. Adding in the Aileen stuff was not needed BUT it wasn’t as bad as I expected. Sarah did an excellent job playing her and I think would have been better off in her own 5 episode series. I think Charlize played her better of course but Sarah did her justice as well.

3. Ryan REALLY needs to get an editor to help him with the scripts. He can’t seem to stay on task as always but it feels worse between this and AHS 13.
