‘Girl’ 25th anniversary vinyl reissue

I did wonder why the Facebook pictures got changed. She's basically like all the gays on Romeo (#noromeooutnow) selling her wares with 20 year old pictures uploaded.
 
So the 25th anniversary vinyl is up for preorder along with a T-shirt bundle for Australia only. UK news to follow on.

Price is ridiculous (£100 after shipping), but I got the coloured vinyl with medium t and also a large one just in case that doesn't fit as obz this is a new casual wear fave for nights out.
 
OMG where is the tracklisting? This is going to be bare bones isn't it? I hope it comes with a digital code as well anyway :googlyeyes:
 
A ‘Girl’ related podcast is on Spotify. She says the UK label wanted to do their own version so will be interesting to see what the differences are. I’m just expecting the original album and not too many frills.

 
They got the Neon Nights vinyl SPOT ON and it went so well, they surely won’t just chuck this out as an original album. Surely at least Someone New and Coconut will get on.
 
It's a DOUBLE LP, and Cococunt is definitely on it according to the hype sticker. I didn't realise that they did shipping outside of Oz. FUCK. I think the T-Shirt is exclusive to Oz but I don't think I can let this pass...
 
Oh the UK version will be SOON ENOUGH, I'm just holding out for that
 
The T-shirt is to tie in with T-shirt day or something in Australia, some of the money from that goes to charity but hopefully it’ll make whoever’s behind the UK release think of a similar bundle.

It’s out of stock so obviously would have been a CLEARCUT number one had they produced more (maybe). Rumours are Cherry Red are involved with the UK release and there will be some kind of boxset but I have no proof of this, I just read it.
 
I had a real pang of jealousy seeing Aussie/rich contacts getting theirs this week.

I REALLY hope the UK release is something special. I am hoping the London Records ad from a few weeks ago suggests we'll be getting something good :disco:
 
People seem to expect the London Records thing to be steaming of more unreleased music from the Unleashed era but again just what I’ve read, who knows?

The UK release will be this year. Clear vinyl and 4 CD set through 90/9 records who are linked to Cherry Red. I want a t- shirt too.

 
I hope it isn’t a bare bones vinyl. At least give us the same level as Neon Nights was- I need Coconut and Something New on it for starters. :disco:
 
Maybe 1 will be a doi-voi-doi with all the videos hopefully at a higher resolution than the 480p she or her team thinks is acceptable for a 2023 youtube upload.
 
So the cd set is a similar idea to the Neon Nights, disc one is the deluxe reissue tracklist and cds 2-4 the UK singles and all the mixes. The vinyl is the 10 track original album but with bonus 12” of Someone New, Keep Up With The Good Times and Coconut.

Different bundles are available. I’ll have a proper look later.

 
Why not use that bonus 12” to make it an album and throw some mixes on- perhaps one of each single?

God it frustrates me.
 
Yes, whilst it’s a nice freebie add on, I’d prefer it to be expanded into a double album for continuity of playing purposes.

I see the album originally had one week on the chart at #57.

Neon Nights re-entered at #55 with the reissue earlier this year. Is it too much to hope she may out peak the original performance?
 
I wouldn’t have thought so as Neon Nights benefitted from a UK in store which was queued out for hours so she sold plenty of on the day formats. It would be nice though.

That wasn’t during release week, and the week it therefore charted, though. It was much later so didn’t affect it.
