I love them both. But I used to sing Born To Make You Happy in my head when I was forced to play rugby at school in freezing temperatures, my hands numb and my breath freezing mid-air, so it will also be my favourite because it was my escape.

Sadly when I was freezing playing rugby I didn’t have such a luxury.

Born To Be Subservient for me. I remember being so happy and a bit surprised it made number one. Pretty sure that remix (that sounds so different) that Radio 1 hammered did the trick (and the January release) but I'll take it.

All Saints, I SUPPOSE, but Leann and Fragma eliminated is the work of psychopaths.
 
Born to Make You Happy is not only Britney’s best song but also Max Martin’s (probably) and therefore the best number one of 2000.
 
Pure Shores is quite possibly the best number one of the noughties FULL STOP
 
The laugh-tears of the intro Vs Mel Flat's shoooshy ooooooh that passes through like an ethereal Enya burp. Obsessed isn't the word for how I felt about Born at the time, it was the first Britney song I loved (edit: oops! that was Crazy, but I'll go with it anyway) (I'd chosen Xtina up until this point and she would trip up with the ultra nothing All I Want Is You anyway). Pure Shores really is a thing of beauty though. *dramatic leg raise on ledge whilst thinking*

Pure Shores is obviously a gorgeous electro treat. But Born To Make You Happy set the standard for mid tempo early 00s pop and did it VERY WELL indeed.
