I can relate as it reminds me of myself and one of my friends when we attend a work do.
 
I can’t wait for her to file for divorce and release a tell-all book of course, but she remains a cunt for now.

I do feel a BIT sorry for her but I'm mostly just FASCINATED by the impossibility of figuring out whether or not she's ACTUALLY HUMAN INSIDE

Presumably there's some sort of very financially lucrative contract she signed that says she has to stay the duration of the Presidency and then she's free?

She would want to take Barron with her though. Which I'm sure is PEACHY WITH THE PRESIDENT.
 
There are signs she doesn't like HIM very much, but she's so down with all the hateful politics like the rest of the family. I don't see her walking out. She's probably waiting for him to pop his clogs.
 
My favourite observation about him recently is that a lot of his stories he tells involve "a friend coming up to him" and telling him... [insert narrative/ conspiracy]. Sometimes the friend is called Jimmy. These people don't exist.

It would be hilarious if not so tragic.
 
Remember when he would call TV stations and pretend to be his own spokesperson “John Barron” and go on about how amazing Trump is. He’s tapped!

that thread feels alarmist and absurd. some of it is not outside the realm of possibility but it's more likely he just denies the election result and barricades himself in the White House. Trump is hardly known for having the kind of strategy short- or long-term that would create a scenario like that.

Agreed. Both sides are utterly capable of talking up the horrors of the other side to the point of exaggeration. That thread is proper OTT.

Isn’t that just twitter though? I don’t understand what the fascination is with people always going beyond the worst case scenario. Is it just for clicks? For kicks? Just so when something bad happens they can have their “I told you so” moment?

the same thing is happening with Coronavirus. If we’ve been in the post-truth age, I’m already in the post-opinion age, I’m not sure I want to hear them any more

well it’s a thought experiment..and I feel that to avoid being frogs in boiling water it’s important to have them

I didn’t mean to sound like I was getting at you in particular, or even this guy especially (though it’s a bit Wake Up Sheeple in tone). Just something I’ve been feeling these days.

Isn’t important to anticipate scenarios but i want to do it without thinking every day is doomsday eve, you know?

Oh no I didn’t think that! And I do understand what you mean, I’ve had the same thought process myself, but ultimately I’ve realised that my expectations over the years of what could happen have been pushed so slowly in a sinister direction that i don’t think anything is beyond the realms of eventual possibility anymore. Even in this thread there’s a post early on by me teasing Cwej saying “poor Cwej thought this thread would run on and on” and, well, here we are

I can't remember where it was first discussed, but in the primary where progressive incumbent Ed Davey went up against a member of the Kennedy clan, and Nancy Pelosi controversially endorsed the Kennedy, the progressive won with ease.

This is happening fairly consistently, which I'm honestly very happy about. However, it is a bit worrying to me that the Kennedy candidate apparently performed far better with blue collar workers and minorities, whereas the progressive appealed more to affluent city dwellers and students.

Now, where did we spot that pattern before? :eyes:
