50 words for Monday

I always have a terrible come down after the exhilaration of the FLAG PARADE.

My boss is on the phone and has just asked a friend if she wants to come CRAFTERNOONING next weekend.

Obviously spending the afternoon making beautiful wicker baskets is a wonderful and special thing but CRAFTERNOONING is a step beyond the morally and aesthetically acceptable

In other news, I feel certain in my conviction that toffee Yum Yums and cigarettes will improve my mood because I don’t know what the fuck else will :)

I think it sounds STUNNING

IF YOU'RE 87 and doing it in a DAY CENTRE AFTER RECOVERING FROM A STROKE

Morning.

I fell like an absolute sack of shit this morning, only loosely tied at the waist.

I'm also pretty sure I saw comedian Maisie Adam in Glasgow Central this morning. Her haircut is too distinctive for it not to have been her. Goodness me, she is right thin.

I was going to mock "crafteroon" until I remembered that, when I was at Uni, there was an event called Daft Friday which was the last Friday of the term and was, basically, an allnighter in one of the Unions. The hardcore drinkers/real idiots would proceed this with "Dafternoon". And I think that's worse.

Definitely worse. “Oh don’t mind Dave. He’s PISSED DAFT” SAID NO-ONE EVER

11. Cobbler’s Despair

‘Dafternoon’ is vile. I hate portmanteau words like that; I was watching a film yesterday where someone referred to small talk as ‘nonversation’ and I just wanted her to immediately fuck off.

The phrase "daft o'clock" is used up here to represent a ridiculous time of night e.g. Q - "You were absolutely steamin' last night. What time did you get home?" A - "Fuck knows, daft o'clock".

I quite like 'dafternoon' as it reminds me of my Gran who used to use 'you dafty bugger' as a term of affection.

It's all context, innit? "Daftie" is an affection term in Glasgow as well.
