I’d say the Spotify thing is more limiting then any other type of rule we have had. Unless you want to send something released in the past few years. And as I have said before, not everyone uses it or agrees with it.

It will be interesting to see if the songs with videos do better in the final results of this contest, but I am definitely sure it’s an influence of some sort.

I do feel my life is better for having seen the Macy Rodman and Tessa Violet videos, but I moved over to Spotify after the first play through (which meant Tessa shot down the rankings). Surely it's up to each individual whether they want to take visuals into account in their voting or not. You lot are all about the PERFS after all aren't you?!

I want to like Chile because the voice and production are really quite sublime and she sounds a lot like Sophie Ellis-Bextor but I can't get over how REPETITIVE it is.

The videos are fun. Theyre not going to determine how I vote, but I'm glad they're there. They make it easier to focus on the songs themselves.

I definitely agree with this, and in this context I'm judging the good songs without videos similarly to a good Eurovision song with shit staging.

I'm REALLY QUITE PLEASED with how this has gone. For me the song only dilemma was a bit dated. As others have said they're just different sides of the same coin Why not make it a multimedia experience? We consume other music that way.

I love what a video adds to a song as much as anyone, they can be essential but I suppose I am just feeling for the poor souls who entered say, a Jennifer Paige album track, which is competing against visuals.

Everyone had a choice, but understandably I'm guessing some didn't think videos would be such a big deal, so we have a mish mash, which is why I forgot the videos in terms of voting (not that my votes say ANYTHING about musical quality I'm sure ). Mind you part of my reasoning is that I found it far easier to listen to them on Spotify in terms of re-listening/picking favourites...

I'm sure everyone will bear it in mind for the next round anyway.

Either way this has been a success and even as a non player I'm loving it so I'm not complaining!

The only video I've watched is Dana's because I've been having the Spotify playlist on in the background. No offence but I would find sitting on the sofa watching some of these entries a massive CHORE.
