A Song For Moopy 2020 - CLOSED - RESULTS SUNDAY 7PM

I just think I am on a completely different page than the rest of Moopy when it comes to this. I'm much more geeky with stuff like this, but I know I'm an outlier.

My original idea was to make it more of a Eurovision-related theme, where each person is assigned or picks a country and they have to pick an artist from there, or related to that country etc, eg You could have Madonna representing Italy, or Dua Lipa representing Albania etc. Not sure exactly how the countries would be allocated though, still to work that one out. If we want to stick to Spotify and YouTube then we could try this way? Not to say it's going to be that way forever but as it's Eurovision month (or would have been) next month I thought a Eurovision themed one would be good?

I’d say the Spotify thing is more limiting then any other type of rule we have had. Unless you want to send something released in the past few years. And as I have said before, not everyone uses it or agrees with it.

It will be interesting to see if the songs with videos do better in the final results of this contest, but I am definitely sure it’s an influence of some sort.

FWIW I only got involved because there was a Spotify playlist, I hate listening to music on Youtube because of the ads. (FUCK YOU GRAMMARLY)

The rules are not set and stone though, are they? If you are willing to run it I am sure we would be happy to follow your rules.
 
I heard SUPALONELY on the radio earlier and still found it a BIT DULL (and I’ve already sent my votes)

I would be game for this if I got to pick the country myself but not sure how this would work. I wouldn’t go for any of the more popular countries anyway though.

Amazingly there are 17 tracks I didn't hate! Time to whittle these fuckers down.

That could work, regardless of whether it's videos/songs/live/everything.

Countries get assigned at random and you then have to go digging to find an artist and song from that country. A lot of people aren't going to have any options to hand immediately but to me scrabbling around trying to find a gem would be half the fun. Imagine the North Macedonian DELIGHTS :o:disco:

Just no to any game with mp3s as a rule...but I don't see why they can't be included if someone wants to enter something that's not on youtube or spotify.
 
This is turning into a really tiresome discussion. I like this edition of ASFM and don’t think we need a second round, so let’s enjoy this one while it lasts.
 
I am in the Ag corner of why make it complicated for complications sake. Sucks all the fun out of it.
 
I understand the beef with Spotify, loads of my mates are producers, but they get fuck all from YouTube, its the worse of the two evils.
 
How hard is it just to stick to the same format? If I get through to the next round, I'll post the link to my VIDEO and just put Kala (back) on ignore until the results :D

I don't think anyone's complaining really, just a bit of harmless debate. Well I hope anyway. I'm sure everyone's grateful for you hosting and the fun is in listening to and ranking what people have sent, and trying to guess who did what. If you do it again there's no need to change anything - the format is very clear and simple! How people vote is up to them and clearly some of us differ which is fine.

From an entirely selfish point of view (I wanna play I wanna play :() I hope this runs again in whatever shape or format but fair enough if people want a break.

Oh people have had opinions all the way through. I don't feel like people are being ungrateful at all, just stating a fact. I've really enjoyed it.
 
I know we were all really excited about Kalavision, but we should enjoy this one and then talk about what's next when this is over.
 
Why was everyone going on about the videos? I had them all on YouTube and I couldn’t remember anything that happened in any of them :D
