A Song For Moopy - SARDVISION 2026. The SONG REVEAL thread - tonight at 8pm!

Someone sent ROBIN S? What the everliving fuck :D If you CAN'T BE ARSED just DON'T ENTER! (like me)

Song 6 - SUMMER FLINGS - Jack Jarryd - "Call It Off"

Definitely, I thought it was fun. I liked the beat.

Song 7 - SWIMMING AU NATURALE - Debbii Dawson - "Gut Feelings"

Love this! My only criticism is WHY ISN'T IT IN GERMAN

Song 8 - TURKMENISTAN GOLDEN STATUES - Myahri - "Aýterek-Günterek"

She had the world's cheapest synthesizer AND A DREAM! :HairFlip:

Song 9 - BIG ARSE MOTHS - Jolin Tsai - "Medusa"

I have heard this before, and naturally love it. ASIAVISION TAIPEI 2027 PLEASE

Song 10 - VIEWS IN PARK - Etta Marcus - "Teenage Messiah"

HATEFUL.

Song 11 - SUMMER SOLSTICE - METTE - "COMING OF AGE"

Undeniably competent, but it isn't sparking joy :(

Song 12 - PETRICHOR - Amalie Holt Kleive - "Sier Ingenting"

Love the production on this so much! Vocal is a tad annoying, but I am sure it will grow on me.

Song 13 - SKINNY DIPPING - Mariana Katsimicha - "To Vals Ton Oneiron"

The best bit of this was the KASETA indent at the start.

Song 14 - FUN WITH FRIENDS - Ray Volpe & Headex - "BrAindEAD"
:Douze::senhit::Douze:
This is a BIT OF ME (derogatory, sadly)

Song 15 - A MODEST SUNDAE - Bob Moses - "Broken Belief"

That Bob Moses song reminded me a lot of the 1996 hit Pepper by The Butthole Surfers (tagging @octophone here as I don't think anyone would have expected a Butthole Surfers reference in an ASFM thread)

Song 16 - ICE CREAM - Milja & The Milky Way - "Maybe I'm The Problem"

This is doing nothing for me, but it isn't offensive either.

Song 17 - PLANTS BEING CUNTS - SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS - "Brace Yourself!"

Is this the most Germanic ASFM we've ever had? Not at all the sound I was expecting, I thought it would be more BASEMENT OF THE EAGLE, but I am enjoying the middle aged gays expressing themselves earnestly (for two minutes too long :kim:)

Song 18 - SHORTS - GEMINI RISING - "The Future"

This was good, if unremarkable. Might pick up a couple of points from me.

Song 19 - OUT OF OFFICE - Bic Runga - "Red Sunset"

This felt like it dragged, despite being a sensible 3:20 in length.

Song 20 - BEER GARDENS - Natasha Thomas - "Save Your Kisses For Me"

Very OF ITS TIME, but better than Brotherhood of Man at least.

Song 21 - HERITAGE SITES - Henry VIII & The King's Singers - "Pastime With Good Company"

Wait...

Fully here for A MADRIGAL FOR MOOPY

Song 22 - CHIPS OUTSIDE - Ricochet - "In Car Stereo"

Not a correct note to be found in this entire performance :disco: Which is even more impressive given that it is lipsynced to the studio recording!?

Song 23 - SKIES OF BLUE - E-Craig - "Home (212 Vocal Mix)"

"Vocal mix". WHERE ARE THEY THEN?

Oh, four minutes in, sure. Don't hate this at all though, though would obviously be improved considerably by getting Enya's sister to sing on it instead.

Have made my first cut after one listen, I'll gradually narrow it down slowly. I'm never sure whether it's better to vote on first impressions or have a decent play of the songs as there are growers, and there are showers.

Oh hi, I'm just back from doing important work for UNICEF in (Google shit places where poors are. remember to delete this) Doncaster.

Sadly, while I was over there I developed a devastating allergy to songs that peaked at number 6 on the UK hit parade (I needed to be resuscitated after they played Birdhouse In Your Soul on their poor people radio). Fortunately, this is Mopsyvisions so I'm sure I have NOTHING to worry about on that front.

Let's away.

Released five years ago and not yet at a million views. Michelle WISHES she could do these numbers.

Sadly, like the careers of everyone from Destiny's Child who chose not to slaughter newborns in exchange for success, this kind of went nowhere.

4. Nodesha

She never needs to buy butter, this one - she just rubs her face on the toast.

This is good fun in an early 2000s way but it all feels VERY low key.

6. Jack Jarryd

He's on a hiding to nothing eating pasta in a light shirt.

I actually like the verses more than the chorus here - they feel like they they're building to something but it all goes a bit Maroon 5.

8. Myahri

I'd have put CONSIDERABLE money on this already having turned up in a contest. I've had it on my playlist for years, so there must be a reason I've never thought to actually send it. Obvious BANGER.

11. METTE

Okay, this one has an immediate pulse. To think I listened to eleven minutes of Cyrano de Bergerac in the vain hope of a beat, only for this one to fully complete the assignment in the opening seconds.
