A Song for Moopy: UNDERCOVER. Song selection thread! CLOSED

Song submissions are needed by TOMORROW for those who still haven't sent me anything.

I know @Raining On Me was found unresponsive this morning after blowing his Kalavision winnings on Sherbet Dip Dabs, but just as soon as they discharge him I'll be checking my pigeonhole for his entry.
@Pingu and @Rita have promised they're in the final stages of talks with their respective artists, so I'm not worried on that front.
@NonEvent and @whatisityoucantface are maintaining absolute silence - hopefully for dramatic effect and not because they can't be arsed.
@L. Põldvere @cwej @David_5000 and @wurst haven't responded to my request to be the surprise 40th player and I'm trying very hard not to take it personally.

I like to think I give people semis in every thread I post in. Sadly I can’t justify them here because there are only 39 songs in total and we can easily do a results show with that many entrants.

i don’t see what the difference is though, it’s just divide into two halves anyway, and you get more points to dish out. Isn’t it the same sort of experience, albeit without half the entrants being kicked off and having to VERY grudgingly vote because it’s the right thing to do?
 
The Festival Di Soldi final seemed a bit DEAD because half the contestants had been eliminated, even the TWIST didn’t drum up as much excitement as hoped.

I feel like semis can stall the momentum a bit. Festival Di @Soldi was okay because the host was a gobshite who kept the conversation active the entire time.
Plus, three sets of results means triple the amount of avenues for catastrophic error for comedy dyspraxic ButterTart.

That's fair, I guess it's not strictly the semi format I'm talking about, more the voting window. For me 40 songs needs at least two weeks to get to know them all and rank them.
 
Anyway apologies for derailing this thread with another format discussion, that wasn't my intention!
 
Also, since three of the last four hosts are currently in this thread, did any of you find it harder to vote?
I think the combination of a. having so long to get to know each song and b. knowing who sent them is causing me no end of grief at the prospect of picking just fourteen to give points to.
 
Yes I found it hard to vote! I got to know the songs so well that there were things I loved about all of them. I wrote down my votes the second voting opened and I didn't change them after that

I might have to do that. Just be tough with myself rather than change my favourites fifty times.
