Halloj og wilkom (which is probably Swedish for 'hello and welcome') to the first and, lawsuit pending, last A SONG FOR MOOPYFESTIVALEN. I've been hoping to collaborate with @Suomi on another project ever since we ran over that fisherman after senior prom so you can imagine my delight when, after Tisch, Kate, Ag, Jivafox, Octophone, dmlaw, RobotBoy, MrsLedin, Boopy and Natalie Tauziat's Analpony all turned him down, I was literally the first person he called to co-host this event with him
So it's with great pride and no small amount of gutwrenching terror that we announce that A SONG FOR MOOPYFESTIVALEN is officially OPEN!
HOW IT WORKS
We've taken under advisement the general antipathy towards semi-finals, so this contest will feature four heats, held over four consecutive weeks and with no more than ten songs in each (Which means no more than 40 (fourtey) players overall.
Each week you'll vote on your favourites. The top three will advance directly to the final, and the songs that place 4th, 5th and 6th will progress to the second chance round in week 5, where they'll have one last opportunity to nab one of 6 spots in the final.
The twist? We won't be giving you any results until the night of the second chance gala, so you won't know until the last minute whether your song fell at the first hurdle, is competing in the second chance gala, or is already in the final.
'But Butters!' I hear you trill. 'You've the raw sexual magnetism of a young Tony Curtis, why won't you give us results each week?' Simple, dear reader; to keep you engaged for as long as possible.
By week 6, we'll have a final containing 18 songs and hopefully enough Moopists still tuning in to make the whole ordeal worthwhile.

You have until Thursday 21st October to present your entry to me. Your song will have more of a chance to shine than ever with just nine other songs to compete against, and we'll be spreading genres out across the four heats so uniqueness is your friend. Good luck!
Also we'll be revealing who sent what BEFORE the final so you'll be going into it naked as the day you were born. If you don't like it then perhaps you should have offered to run your own contest okay.
