I'm confused with what is included in those certifications. The fact that many have their original certifications based on sales back in the day makes me think those tracks haven't sold or streamed enough to get any higher award. And the songs which have more recent certifications, they all have 2004 release dates, so I'm not sure if they combine sales or streaming.

The logic is that they reset the sales counts in 1994, so for Abba any new certifications will almost solely be reflecting streams/downloads.

But at the same time they didn't remove any of the old certifications, so a song still has to surpass its original milestone before it can start getting new modern-day recognition.

So Thank You For The Music's gold cert (400k) is solely streaming/downloads and none of the 80s sales. But One Of Us' is solely 80s sales and zero streaming/downloads. If/when One Of Us moves up to platinum (600k), then it will also be solely on streaming/downloads and none of the 80s sales.

A song I'd argue is probably their worst



I think that's their last proper track to hit a million - there are still 17 tracks below it, but I think they are all random edits, repurposed tracks, foreign versions and bonus bits tacked onto reissues and box sets.

The 2026 Valentine edition of Lay All Your Love On Me sees it re-enter the physical sales chart at #5. Slightly surprised it isn't higher. Still, it is thirty quid...

Don't Shut Me Down becomes their 22nd track to hit 100m spotify streams.

Also from the last few weeks:

Mamma Mia and The Winner Takes It All both hit 800m. Mamma Mia did it first but TWTIA will overtake it in a matter of days.

SOS, Voulez-Vous and Slipping Through My Fingers have all hit 300m, in that order, but STMF will overtake both the others in a matter of weeks.

Fernando has lost most of its Stranger Things momentum, but is still up about 25% daily on where it was before the show.

At current rates, Dancing Queen should hit 2 billion around the end of May or so. TWTIA should hit a billion before the end of this year, with LAYLOM and Mamma Mia following mid/end 2027.

Take A Chance On Me cleared 600m a couple of days ago.

Slipping Through My Fingers has just overtaken Angeleyes to become their #11. It's currently 45m behind Money Money Money at #10, and streaming over 100k more than it daily.

And Voulez-Vous has just overtaken SOS to become their #13.
