ABBA Voyage: The Concert Residency – CONTAINS MAJOR SET LIST SPOILERS (2 Viewers)

I'm tempted to line up a Christmas or New Year trip. Might wait to see if they do another cheaper offer though, like the £50 Dancing Queen Summer dancefloor tickets.

From what I saw at the matinee today, the seats looked pretty much sold out, but there was definitely a little more room on the dancefloor.

Saw the new setlist additions last night for the first time.

Was relieved to be there on a Super Trouper evening and although the staging for it was fairly unremarkable it was a welcome addition and I liked how it segued into Mamma Mia.

Money Money Money looked fantastic and was an iconic Frida moment in a show already full of iconic Frida moments.

The new Don’t Shut Me Down arrangement was weird. They’ve given it a bouncier almost reggae-like beat??

I did miss When All Is Said And Done, and while I see why they ditched it in favour of a hit, I’m not sure The Name Of The Game really had the crowd on side all that much more. Whatever comes there is always going to be a bit of a dip after the space disco section.
Should of been when all is said and done for One of us

Now booking to June 2027, meaning it will see its 5th anniversary at least.

And apparently Bjorn has said it could remain until 2029, ticket sales permitting.

So, by all accounts, as it is now in the Stage 4 part of development for the area the current latest sunset date for ABBA Voyage is currently 2031. So not going anywhere for a while yet.

And then MOVE IT TO ANYWHERE ELSE IN LONDON THAT BJORN JOLLY WELL WANTS.

Bulldoze the shitty old Southbank Centre to give ABBA Voyage a permanent home :disco:

I mean, it's clearly got legs, so I think financially it would be crazy not to want it in London. I'm surprised they haven't opened it anywhere else yet though - it's long been suggested, and certain countries/places would seem a bit of a no brainer.

Absolutely SCREAMED at "Yes, we know the Mamma Mia version of Does Your Mother Know is better, here's the women in the band to sing it instead".

And Agnetha's white dress in Money Money Money was EVERYTHING

But yeah despite the fact its the least seedy song of the 1970s that Could Have Been Extremely Seedy they still run a country mile from having a man member of Abba sing it.

And Benny looking PERFECT BEARCUBMAN at the keyboards at ABBA Voyage will never not be one of the dreamiest things I have ever seen. I don't know why he dresses like a Wizard these days but I Do Wish He Would Stop.

Also lets just remind ourselves how incredibly pert his bottom was.

As it's one of the newer additions, I've forgotten what section Money Money Money is in, but if it's Agnetha in the white dress, it'll be Frida in the gold catsuit, which I much prefer.

the redux strengthened the second half of the show so so much I think - because previously it tipped a bit after the disco banger section but now it's pretty amazing. And fun fact - i think - have i said this before - that a long long time ago one of the major creatives on this (not an ABBA member obvs) came to a house party at my house and Oh How I Wish I Had Spent Just A Liiiiiite More Time Becoming Their FRIEND.

Don’t we still have to organise taking Star for her birthday about SIX YEARS AGO?

did you lse your Abba Voyage virginity today?
Last night , yes. I was so sceptical going in as neither a massive fan of abba nor believing that the holograms would be any good.

I was absolutely FLOORED by the production and enjoyed the songs so much more than I was expecting. It was only the new songs towards the end that I struggled with.

Yes, she was in the catsuit and also looked great.

Bugger

Can't we save it for her FIFTIETH now?
Cause you go ALL THE TIME, I’ve been waiting on* you (* - passing the blame to).

I’ve not even seen the new songs. Let’s go in the new year.

So happy you enjoyed it - its mental isn’t it - its like a genuinely joyful thing in a messy world.

I'd prefer a weekend matinee, so I (we, there's no way he won't be coming as well) don't have to stretch to the cost of an overnight.

@Star

Oh I’m well up for a matinee. That was my presumption anyway.

It’s a good excuse to get together if nothing else :disco:

Was the last time for us Kim Wilde?

Genuinely can't remember the last time I saw Star.

Yes it was and likewise! I’m vaguely excited out of only just remembering it from nowhere earlier :D
