No thread for this, really?

One of the most perfect summer tunes of the 90s for me. I know the lyrics are a bit basic in places, but the vocal arrangement is so wonderful. I love the gospelly backing that comes in towards the end.

Rubbish video mind. They should've been skipping through a cornfield with the Stockholm Community Gospel Choir, not arseing about with washing machines.

I used to love it and bought the single at the time.

The shine has rather come off it these days though, as it has with the band in general.

I never tire of this, even when it gets played pretty much on a loop at work throughout the day. A firm 10/10 for me.

I hated this. Brings back memories of a horrible French exchange in 98.

What are the “basic” lyrics?

The album is phenomenal - it's like my pop dreams came true, there's very little weighing it down. Dr Sun - "I don't wannabe alone with that bitch no" sadly wasn't the case, but what a Summer album this is. It annoyed me that they weren't willing to reveal who the Sun guy actually is.

But yes, my astonishment when I seen the video on The Big Breakfast. I'd practically forgot all about them, despite The Sign being my first ever single and ULF my first major crush.

Life Is A Flower is amazing. Ridiculously kitsch nonsense with an appalling music video to accompany, but it's simply too warm-hearted to hate. Dr Sun is also the TITS. I have no idea why that out of all of the Flowers tracks was cut from the US edition for being too "European", when I'd have said the likes of Cecilia and Travel To Romantis were infinitely moreso.

This is actually really good, although the dorky video was hilarious. It's no Beautiful Life though which at the time was the one track by ver Base I liked bar The Sign, though I did appreciate them after they split.

Need to upgrade this to a 9. I agree its nearly a 10 but not quite The Sign. I heard it on a REEL on Instagram the other week and was reminded how joyous it is.

There was this sweet spot in 1998 for absolutely earnest sunny pop. This is probably the pinnacle of that.
