That's a list of uninspired choices IMO (most of them have been covered many times already(, although that version of Ordinary World is actually really nice (he really does have a good voice) so I'll hold judegement yet.

This. Not much on the track list seems like it’ll be all that, but not going to lie - Holding out for a Hero is rather good

I don't think he's going the obvious route per se. "My Attic" by Pink or "West Coast" by Lana are hardly the most covered tracks by either artist. But I do prefer my covers albums to have some common theme/concept other than a hodgepodge of pop covers.

He rose to prominence singing these type of covers on American Idol so I think it generally makes sense though. I'm still shocked we haven't gotten a proper Kelly Clarkson covers album other than that Spotify EP she shoved out last year.

He has an amazing voice but the instrumental for HOFAH is bland and a bit uninspired. It’s a shame because are better rock and metal covers out there already.

Well I've not given this album my time of day (mainly because it's a bit pointless) but BY GOLLY I'm quietly obsessed with his completely unnecessary cover of the ubiquiotus I Can't Stand The Rain
