Just digged out 'Alisha Rules The World' and 'The Collection'. I loved all their singles apart from 'Wish I Were You', and 'Pretender Got My Heart' should've given them their first top 10 :( Did anyone have their second album 'Illumina' is it worth getting?

Alisha's Attic Top 10

1. Pretender Got My Heart
2. I Am I Feel
3. Indestructable
4. Push It All Aside
5. The House We Built
6. Intense
7. Pilot
8. Alisha Rules The World
9. White Room
10. The Incedentals

I was just listening to Illumina the other day actually. I really like it. Going Down should have been a single.

I love Barbarella too. :D

'Pretender Got My Heart' should have given them about their SEVENTH top ten hit!

YES!

Also try to get hold of their fanclub album of non released tracks "The Vaults" is pretty good.

I've never known such a consistant act really...the b sides were generally really good too

Did they ever have a top 10 hit? They were SO underrated and should have been HUGE if you ask me.

*floods also* I'm ALWAYS trying to get people interested in them .. TO NO AVAIL

You know for all that, I need to give The House we Built a bit more of a chance .. i LOVE the first 2 albums. I think in the last year Illumina has become a close runner to ALTW .. and THAT is possibly one of my favourite ever albums!

Kinda indifferent to the Vaults for now.. did that DVD ever surface from the fanclub? I thought they were putting together a DVD of their videos.. *obsess*

I think I might have to find the Indestructible video on Youtube now!

*floods*

FOUR number 12's was it?

And then that dance song Shelley Poole sang last year made the same position!

POOR BRAVE POOLE SISTERS

though of course the songwriting has been a bit more successful. Well, for Karen anyway .. a #1 as well (Lola's theme), and a load of top 10s ..

shame Shellie only managed a track on Damito Jo :black:

OOOOHHHH, you know it's LA LA LA LA LOVE when you dream a monster just swallowed you up and you don't wanna be SAVED

I think I found it on there before ..

though if you have a file, you can megaupload or something?
god i remember it being on TOTP2 for some reason and I taped it. God knows how many times I watched it!

Push it all aside should have easily gone top 10. I dont think they were marketted very well and their image was ATROCIOUS for the style of music they sang in my opinion.

Oh and I like most of the songs that Karen Poole has written too by looking through that list. She must have made a BOMB through songwriting by now.

Well, seems a RIPE OLD TIME for an Aa RANK

1) Indestructible
2) The Air We Breathe
3) The Incidentals
4) Alisha Rules The World
5) I Am, I Feel
6) Push It All Aside
7) Wish I Were You
8) Barbarella
9) Pretender Got My Heart

Honourable mention goes to Adore U and Resistor

Karen Poole is a CLOSE FRIEND of WILL YOUNG fact fans

I really liked their first album but LOST INTEREST afterwards... I did like Pretender Got My Heart though. I MIGHT DOWNLOAD IT.

Indestructable WOULD be my favourite, but unfortunately a couple of years ago I drunkenly (and tearfully) informed my friend that 'You are my lifeline'. Oh yes.

As a result I cannot listen to the song without CRINGING. :shy:

Gawd, what a Slave-esque post this is. :zombie:

Oh that pissed me off big time. It was my favourite album track and then they ruined it with that slow dirge on elephants. :(

yeah totally .. like "oh we are kooky spiritual sisters on elephants in GOA or somewhere"

LOL I HAVE BINDI!

hmph .. i remember forcing my sister to drive me to HMV after my work experience to get that CD though :p .. geez, that was my 15th birthday!

you know, looking at their other videos I REFUSE to believe that Air we breathe video was made on a budget stretching further than Whipsnade ZOO :D

I'm sorry the song is ruined for VoR (i have songs like that!!), but there's so many lovely lyrics! The single version wasnt THAT bad I suppose, but they really didnt need to change it.

I love the "look up to the sky" segment to BITS

I know this is an AA thread, but can I just say this Dubstar video is one of my favourite vids EVER. Perfect low budget videomaking.
