All inclusive Madonna CHART STATS, CERTS & STREAMS thread

Hopefully with FIFA Read my Lips feat Justin and LIke a Player with the choir
It will stabilise ie another week in the top 20 hopefully

Also I think no75 for Danceteria is actually pretty good!?

Nearly 8k for the album so it should hit silver this week. Hopefully with the World Cup performance and streaming holding well she sees a third week at least top forty, if not top twenty.

The UK drop in sales was a bit ouch
I hope she’s got some more promo lined up apart from the world cup Performance

It’s not surprising though - week one was obviously loons out buying about 18 different variants. Actual physical sales are pretty much week one and then that’s it these days.

There’s a rumour going round of a super deluxe down the line but I think they could do with dropping an extra variant this week
Maybe even making the TikTok edition available in the UK or a World Cup digital version

It’s within a few hundred copies of the #10 and within a thousand of the couple below it so could go either way with the final Billboard numbers.

Everybody get up AND DANCE! :disco:

I hate to say it but we need some more UK promo.

The One Show sole guest or something.

Time to ramp up the promo if they want it to stabilise, otherwise I may start to worry girls.

She's clearly in no condition to tour and that's fine. But it may be time to drop the Danceteria full video and ramp up some TV spots like Homes Under the Hammer, The One Show and Antiques Roadshow etc.

I would have also liked some podcast appearances like Shut Up Evan and Las Culturistas

September/October we need a scandalous Bizarre video with lots of sex.

November/December we can have the super deluxe to help with re-sharting

Tour announcement in January 2027 after she's had and recovered from the knee replacement

The bad thing is people are screaming for more vinyls and reissues and they just don’t listen. I know it’s a bad way to get sales BUT if people want them, let them have them. She put that Jersey/vinyl combo up and it went FAST.

Why would they bother releasing more variants now? It's got the #1 and critical acclaim. Does selling a few thousand more to the hardcore who we know will lap shit up actually mean anything beyond an artificially boosted chart position for a week?

At least until we get a whole raft of unreleased material...

I'd rather they wait and put out these additional 8 tracks in some form of deluxe with new variants then.

I’d rather have a deluxe-deluxe with more tracks as well but they need to do something to sustain momentum. They already have videos filmed obviously.

My LOON brain just hates the thought that an album this good so far into her career is going to fall off the charts in (possibly) a couple of weeks.

They may need to do something, but flogging more of the same to people who already are well into double figures of formats isn't it.

Very soft second week drop, for her and any legacy act with a limited streaming presence. Hoping for another soft ish drop week 3 (maybe top 50) with the 60 second World Cup promo.

US week two - it is OK. I do fuck with it.

week 3 drop might be toward the 50s region i'd guess?

And I don’t think MDNA is even a fair comparison since it was pre streaming era and wasn’t competing with all of that nonsense clogging up the chart.

M team aim at copying the brat rollout, really something fresh and exciting must be coming ahead. Kylie's also nailing this m collaboration

she didn't! apparently she needs to do to be able to dance again because her knee is fucked. but so far she hasn't had it.

The nice thing about knee surgery these days is they are typically an outpatient procedure here. They get you up walking again the day of, a few weeks of therapy and take it easy about a month and you are good as gold

It’s never going to hang around, really, outside of physical sales which is highly week one focused and loon based. Her streaming is great for her this time, but won’t ever hold a candle to Olivia, Ariana, whoever for it to hang around for months in the actual charts. The odd week getting a re-entry due to a variant or re-release is likely all that will happen.

And that’s way more than fine. It’s debuted amazing and held up far better than most others in her position for week two. It will eventually tick over into certifications over time.

I think that's a bit binary and harsh.. just because she's not at Olivia or Ariana's levels (or Taylor - i.e. the top streaming acts of all time / at the moment etc.) doesn't mean it's 'only' a loon record. There is genuine evidence that this has crossed over beyond the loon fanbase, and this is reflected in the streaming numbers. Yes, of course, nowhere near those names (her fanbase is not teenagers) but she's doing pretty well for anyone and not just a 'legacy' act.
(I think)

Unless you have complications of course...

And don't forget she had sepsis a few years ago and nearly died; so I imagine her medical team is probably being a bit extra vigilant here before signing off on any major procedures... (and maybe she genuinely just doesn't want to do it until she's on crutches or in a wheelchair - who knows.)

A joint replacement generally is meant to be 'one and done' - i.e. you get it done the one time and it's meant to last the rest of your life. The procedure is pretty straightforward but you really don't want it to fuck up (and it often does).

Oh I meant loon as in buying physical records - I don’t think any casual listeners (of anyone) buy physicals anymore, it is mainly just fanbase, which is why it is nearly always week one.

It’s just to stay around after that (as in enough to constantly chart) you need to have a huge streaming base, which I can’t imagine a new Madonna record would ever get week in, week out.

The album has clearly done far better than the three of four before and made her much more popular again.

It has crossed over for sure, but I doubt it’s enough to see the album stick around. Not because her numbers are pitiful but because the album charts are too crowded to cater for all successful new albums. Only the mega streaming ones stick around.
