I wonder if covid-19 is having an effect on casting?

I may be wrong (:eyes:) but I think ALL of the queens listed currently live in California or Las Vegas? (aside from possibly Jan) ie. driving distance of the studio.

Well she had some funny moments, she’s a good performer and a bit more experience of performing and honing her craft, I think, would untap some of her potential
 
I just remember very little in terms of personality, and that's what I want from All Stars. But then she certainly isn't the minority in that line up.

Silky was sometimes a bit obnoxious, but she absolutely didn't deserve the complete hatred she inspired from some sections of the fanbase. I'm actually surprised she'd jump back in considering some of the vile shit people were sending her during her season.

If she is cast on AS6, I wonder if a particular popular video content creator (who was talking an awful lot about black lives recently) will once again EDIT HER OUT ENTIRELY from his recaps for the terrible crime of being a bit annoying. Not even Sherry Pie got that treatment, being pixelated out instead :eyes:
 
Silky is the reason the season 11 is unwatchable, she was loud and obnoxious and sucked the energy from the room. Sure she shouldn’t get hate from the fandom (no one deserves that) but I refuse to pretend she wasn’t the worse thing about that season.
 
Silky strikes me as somebody who was very consciously playing for the cameras and overshot to an unwatchable degree. It’d be interesting to see if she toned it down a bit on her second go-around.

On a related note I’m surprised Eureka hasn’t been lined up for All Stars yet.
 
She’s got We’re Here so why put herself through the hate.
 
Imagine having a season with Silky, Vanjie and Eureka. Unless they tear each other apart in front of the camera, I never want to see any of them again.
 
Eureka was surprisingly tolerable on We're Here. I mean, she pushed me to the edge a few times and I much preferred Shangela and Bob, but she's definitely slightly less hateful for me after it.

According to reddit Leila is now switched out for Nina West, which I can begrudgingly accept ups the All Star contingent a bit with everybody except Jan, Sonique, Scarlet and Plastique finishing top 5.

I still don't really have anybody I care enough about to root for though :D Yara/Ginger/Asia/Sonique I GUESS!

Yes, I'd say Asia is lined up to win as things stand. And with that cast, I certainly wouldn't object.

Are we entirely discounting Ginger? Her AS2 exit was a surprise after a shit week, she’s consistently otherwise been good enough, no? And she’s surely got the CASH to up her game...

No, I think Ginger would make the top 4 (of that group) but if it came to her and Asia then Asia would have the edge just because she’s more recent and more visible.
 
I don't really mind the loud in your face personality but she didn't actually have the drag skillz to back it up. In acting challenges in particular she was awful and she could do design. The best thing was her dancing, but even that was just throwing herself round the room most of the time. She wasn't close to top 4 material at all.
 
I liked Silky on her season and completely disagree that she made it unwatchable. I think S11 would have died a death without her really.

That said, she was such a big personality and is in that Vanjie/Eureka camp where I just don't need another season of them because I think it would be overkill.

The only S11 queen I want to see again is the severely underrated A'keria C. Davenport. :disco:

From that cast list I like the idea of Yara, Ginger and Asia as a top three, yet I think each of them would have struggled to win any other All Stars season. And I love love love Yara.
 
Silky did have a good mug on her when painted.

I don't see Asia coming close to outperforming Ginger, but maybe I've forgotten her strengths.

I should really re-watch seasons 8+ as I don't think I ever went back to them, which is something I did a lot for 1-6.
 
Also I hated her at the time but Pearl would be cool to have back ofif it was possible.
 
I think an Asia narrative might be similar to Shea's...'I should have won but accidentally murdered a number of insects and it's haunted me every day since'. But actually hers would be more justified than Shea's mixed feelings towards roses - I imagine the aftermath of butterflygate was actually pretty traumatic, unlike Shea who just lost a lipsync

I REALLY LIKE Asia. I think they are great at drag, and one of my fave from their season...do I feel they were robbed? No. Do I feel they are lacking a crown? No. Very happy to see her again on an AS season however.

Re. Ginger Minj. Wasn't she basically contractually obliged to do AS2 if WoW asked her (which they did obv)? She's been quite vocal that she didn't really want to do it.

I haven't watched her elimination episode in years either, but wasn't she actually REALLY GOOD in the women of the world musical thing (as was basically all the cast tbh) and fell into the bottom two because of her HIDEOUS AWFUL space runway :D

Asia is COMPETENT indeed and is also generally very sensible and mature with her points of view. Unlike Shea however, she doesn’t have the edge or the cool factor.
 
Agreed, she (or the producers) built herself up as the mum of the group, giving advice and helping the other girls to her own detriment. Unfortunately that persona comes across a bit has-been, despite being nice
