Good Love was one of my favourite songs last year and this is again completely wonderful:



I do love a melodramatic lyric over some eighties synths. It is different enough from the last EP that it isn't just more of the same too (as good as that was).
 
This is gorgeous.

They've been killing it since coming back, on (judging by the video) a budget of $3.
 
i thought they were twins? did they always look so different? is it because of their lack of belief in evolution?

Maximise that budget. AJ bless her is very expressive, I can't help but be amused by her pained looks to camera.

fucking hell - I just discovered both this EP and the last one. both are sensational! what an unlikely reinvention. It's a bit Carly meets The Japanese House by way of Brendan Flowers.

Church and I Know in particular are the tits. I'm ON BOARD.
 
Just listening to this EP now. What a revelation! Who knew Aly and AJ would turn out to be such Queens? :disco:

Star Maps and Not Ready to Make Up are exactly the type of songs I wanted from the Carly Rae’s new album. But I’m happy for them to do their best impression if she cba anymore.
 
Have you also listened to Ten Years, @SDF? It's more of the same from 2017 - I merged them into one playlist and it works thrillingly



Take Me is (possibly) the best song of all time :disco:

The quality control on both EPs is top notch. I think the first is maybe a bit more lo-fi (Take Me aside) and Sanctuary kind of bigger and more confident sounding. Not Ready to Wake Up is definitely their most Carly moment.
 
They were absolutely brilliant live on Thursday, despite it being a horribly sweaty experience. Both EPs in full, a few oldies and an acoustic cover of Slow Burn (which was nice but had that thing where people were thinking it had ended but it hadn't... repeatedly).

It was interesting how the songs came across live. Obviously set placement had a role in it, but Not Ready to Wake Up and Sanctuary seemed to go off the most of the new EP, and as good as they are they are not my favourites in recorded form.

Potential Breakup Song live was obviously a complete moment. :disco:

What a strange song. It sounds like disc 2 track 12 of at least seven different Now! compilations. I think I like it?
 
After Attack of Panic which is great but unusually wasn't completely instant, I am loving this WTF? moment.

WE DON'T NEED EM into that Italo instrumental chorus bit :disco:

AJ's sitcom just got canned so she presumably has more time but less money for their musical endeavours. They'll be trying to entice more gays to part with $99 for their fan club and the promise of an exclusive record at some point.

The upcoming album is all new stuff apparently and planned to have more of a band sound. Hopefully they won't move too far from hot shit like Joan of Arc.
