It definitely feels like she's rolling the credits a bit. I hope it's good, nar, truly terrific absolutely!
 
Really enjoyed this. It’s pretty sycophantic, though there’s discussion about the booze and drugs, but she comes across very well- she’s still clearly got a pretty sharp wit and seems to be surprisingly down to earth according to everyone who talks about her.

Lovely bit of slagging off of David Gest too :D :disco:

Absolutely - some of her 'low' points were VERY whitewashed over....

The David Gest erasure/shade was camp.
 
This was a nice documentary. Definitely a bit of a hagiography, although I feel like she can get treated like a cultural punchline (even by those who like her. Hello "Liza Minnelli outlives..."), so maybe something a bit sycophantic was needed to redress the balance.

I also watched New York, New York afterwards. Great sets, beautiful sets.

I think Liza will be saving face there (via Michael Feinstein in her ear of course), but I'm here for it obviously. I just don't see Gaga giving that kind of ultimatum that robs someone of their dignity. Maybe she's in denial about her abilities and it was an unfortunate wake up call, but the teleprompter issue is an understandable grievance.
 
it sounds like the producers did her dirty, not Gaga.

I do like the idea though that Gaga will only be seen with very old and decrepit legends who appear visibly close to end-of-life. it tracks.
 
Has anyone seen this Liza and Liberace double act? I see clips and can't make my mind up on them. Her rendition of Toxic as Liza was good. I do love a Liza impersonator I guess.

I just don't like her hand being held into doing all this via that wretched gay piano player who clearly has her Facebook password. I hope she leaves him nothing in the will despite telling him otherwise :disco:
 
Yes Kathy Griffin, who knows Liza, has made the same accusation this week.

So sad if she's fallen into the clutches of yet another nefarious homosexual. :(
 
Quite enjoyed what I've read of this so far but you do question just how involved Liza with a Snoz is in a way you don't with, say, Barbra Streisand's weighty tome.
 
Cackling at the thought of the conniptions Streisand would be having if an AI narrator dared to mispronounce her surname.
