Appleton - Side by Side

I absolutely love All Saints but they do feel like the ur-example of a girl group being far better than its constituent parts.

I smell a topic.

Spent the last 5 minutes trying to think where that WOULDN’T be the case, and all I’ve got is Diana Ross and Siobhan Donaghy, and even then, Diana is debatable given the group she came from, and Siobhan is entirely subjective

Yes, I was going to say that's pretty much true of most groups I can think of.

The Pussycat Dolls but calling them a girl group almost feels like FALSE ADVERTISING.

The Shaznay album from two years ago has had a surprisingly long shelf life for me. Some really lovely stuff on there.

Of course, had it been an All Saints album it might have sold slightly more than 11 copies, but here we are.

NOT included on NMF that I can see? LIVID!!

I know they are independent but Fascination are usually ok with things like this - maybe more getting the artists played on R2 it seems.

To their credit, it's not as deathly boring as Don't Worry... but it's still very boring.

I always found this one boring too. But I can see why they have gone more MOR given Don't Worry whilst peaking lower than Fantasy, caught on much more.
Its been said in many threads but 'Supernaturally' 'Waiting for Your Love' and '5am' are all pretty superb I think

I mean it’s fine and all that but there’s zero need for it. It did prompt me to start playing Shaznay’s last album again which I thought was better than any All Saints album.

I love the Shaznay album too, absolutely one of my faves - but I want to hear the Appleton's on Got to Let Go though! :disco:

This has grown on me. I prefer it without the visualiser :D

Similarly to how I missed Natalie’s vocals on the recent Shaznay solo album, I find myself yearning for a bit of Shaznay’s flavour in the vocal mix on this.

Bloody Mel and her burgers.
Same for me - I'm really enjoying the song but I would like it even more as an All Saints song, I think it would make a great All Saints album track.

Can't wait for them to unleash the full album. We're gonna need all hands on deck.

If its anything like their first then I am so here.

They've not done anything like BBC Breakfast, The One Show or Greatest Hits Radio with Kate Thornton yet our Sorb, so this isn't bad with no promo.

Its a SOFT RELEASE

Probably cancelled stuff like Graham Norton, Watch What Happens Live and Vanessa when they seen how emotionally fragile Mel was when pretending not to know the name of I'll Tell You What I Want. It would certainly explain why Lady Victoria Hervey had a face like a slapped arse on the Feltz show.

Just don't forget that the charts are very confusing, and we will need to take a holistic approach to understanding the album's true long-term, entrenched popularity
