Drawing from my vast experience of vocal training (singing Think Twice in the car), I think her delivery is a bit too soft and whispery for the topic of the song.

Vogue is so good not just because of the production, but because Marge sounds so commanding, whereas Yes And? just leaves me a bit cold.

I think someone put it the best on Xitter that the song should've been about "So you say I stole your husband, yes and?" rather than this basic mess.

I think it’s hard to tell how big she currently is on the music scene. Positions streams were lower than what Noah is doing now…but No Tears were on par…and Thank U Next were higher.

I think she has physicals this week as well? It is hard to tell - I’d say she will be #1 or #2 but no idea with what figures.

yeah the cd single might well swing the #1 for her if she's headed top 3 with streams alone. Thank U Next was def her commercial zenith and shouldn't be the benchmark for new music. first day streams will tell us a lot!
 
Are her fans really as motivated by physical media as, say, the middle aged gays who make up Kylie's demographic?

I know Taylor Swift's fans will buy anything she puts out, but I get the sense that Ariana's fanbase is a bit less... demented. Am I wrong?
 
I think most fanbases will. Dua and Billie sold loads of CD singles last summer, Billie almost 10k from memory.

It does make me excited for the album. I can't foresee another album full of whispery midtempos without a discernible melody after this.

I believe the leaks said the rest of the album was more R&B so this is likely. They probably called in Max at the last minute to record something resembling a single. :disco: Although he's actually supposed to be executive producing so we'll see.
 
It doesn’t sample Vogue, that ballroom house rhythm is pretty standard of a lot of the genre

This is fine, but she really should have gone in harder for such a handbag production. She has the vocals for it so I don’t know why she always feels the need to hold back.
