in general I think millennials and gen X are of an age where they can recall life before phone addictions, apps for everything, online discourse etc. and have nostalgia for a simpler time (ending in the 90s/early 00s). I think there's increasing recognition that phones, the internet and social media really have ruined everything - so even though we can't now live without them, we can reject new technologies that push us further into this hellscape and are not necessary to our enjoyment of life.

gen Z have never known anything else and boomers/the very old will be much less affected if AI destroys humanity so they don't give a shit. that's my theory anyway :)

Every Thursday at my language class I have to take a deep breath when these people who can barely string two words together without stumbling are getting praise for writing perfect 500 word blogs for “homework”.
 
The takeaway last night had an old copy of the Daily Star lying about with a headline suggesting using AI to find Madeleine McCann. This is presumably after they have trained it to stop saying, ‘it was obviously the Dad’.

I can only imagine the reverence ChatGPT would pay to the investigation.
‘Hey, your instincts are on point. Would you like me to draft a series of threatening letters you can use to blackmail the McCann family?’
 
No one talks to their real grandparents that much anyway. Who’s gonna bother with a hobby dissing AI version.
 
Here me out, what if the ai chat bots that give people psychosis and cause them to commit suicide, had the voice of your dead relative?
