It’s a bit sad to see how much the queens from season 1 and 3 have aged.

Blair St. Clair is very unlikeable.

I thought this was a good start, none of the talent segments were awful.

I’m worried about Ongina, she feels lost. India is interesting, they need more of those queens to comeback.

Mayhem started ok but the rap was tragic.

Good reads especially from Jujubee.

Yvie was good but they could have gotten a more dancey queen for such a song over a comedy queen.
 
Apparently there’s an Untucked as well.
 
I can't think of a more cringey beef than one between India Ferrah and Derrick Barry. THAT'S the best they could cough up?
 
I thought it was a really strong opening episode.

I like the new twist. The other one had gotten old and Yvie showed why she won in that lip sync.

I was happy for India (and also Alexis). Was Juju singing live?! She sounded great. Also, she didn't disappoint with her reads and there was no way that win should have been tied.

Worried for Ongina but hopefully she pulls through.

Ricky Martin was beautiful.

With Blair, she is coming across as a bit much but it almost seems out of character for her. Maybe she is actually quite snarky but I wouldn't be surprised if she was forcing it and in reality she's closer to what we saw in S9.

The Derrick situation is odd. I'm glad we're spared a season of 'We just want to see the real you, Derrick!', because as she said, she presents the real her when she does her Britney act; that's her drag. Having said that, it clearly doesn't suit Drag Race as a format, and I did roll my eyes at the immediate bitching in the talking heads and workroom as though there has been no break since Season 8.

So Derrick was probably the right choice, but I wanted Mayhem to go home purely because I want her to have to exact trajectory that Morgan had on Drag Race and this has broken it.

I felt sorry for the one who left, but I mean what did she think with that performance?

The Untucked is really good.

And I have forgotten how hot Cracker is out of drag.
 
I'm all for shaking things up, but Yvie felt out of place there as someone who isn't competing but actually competing in the lipsync, I don't know it felt weird. She definitely won that lipsync though and then some! :disco:
 
They show all the voting in Untucked, so that’s great too.

I don’t know how much ”fairer” these rules will be though; imagine how Rilaskatox would’ve voted in the last couple of episodes in AS2.

Mayhem totally overthought hers, she should have just focused on the eye meme. I loved Mariah Angelo and whatever the fresh hell her performance ART was :disco:

Jujubee and Shea were both utter JOYS, and should be on every single season. Blair looked incredible, and I thought she showed a much quicker wit than before. Even that stale old CRACKER wasn’t too hateful.

I knew Ongina would be crap, don’t think she’s any better than what we saw from her in S1. The times she’s been on race chaser and other webseries I’ve found her rather annoying.

India looked hideous in the scene where she was flopping in the chair, wearing flipflops (or what do you call them, sandals?).... that really was a pig in a wig.

I don’t quite understand the Lip Sync Assassin change either, but I like that it’s a further chance for a queen to come back and snatch a moment.
 
Amazing lip sync. Bringing back an assassin ups the entertainment. Yvie deserved the win but India's forward roll into a slide was such a move.
 
What an ep! I didn't watch the last season proper, so it feels like the format has been rested, and this hit us hard with that cunty Gia Gunn AS energy that we gag for.

Here for India's comeback.
Here for Derrick making amazing TV. She needs to be brought back for a Revenge arc STAT, because you know she will serve.
Here for Juju and Shea, two of my favourite queens of all time. Juju's reads were stellar, and Shea's heels and pole were lovely gal.

I have to say, the lip synch assassin was a CHOICE. I was screaming in anticipation for Alyssa or Coco. We need iconic queens. If they wheel out Brook Lynne Hytes next week, I am going to be pissed.
 
It doesn’t look like the queens will be back for ruvenge. Which is a shame because we really need to see more drama and delusion from Derreck.
 
Mimi has had some very choice words about RuPaul in the past, from her time working for Ru. She won't be back before Willam or Pearl.

Don't underestimate Ru's imperiousness and ability not to know someone, even to their face, if it's in service of true stunt queenery.

Would absolutely live for some of these. But as usual you’re being cunty and shady to my queen Naomi Small who has proved to be a total lip sync murderer.
 
Trinity K and Dita really deserve some attention for their lip syncing.

Sadly I think they’ll bring back whatshisname Michaels the muscle queen
