That’s a very good analogy.
Or like when you buy a nice t-shirt or a nice piece of furniture and receive a nice comment about it.
Even if we don’t want to admit it, we all seek some kind of approval at some level, otherwise we wouldn’t bother to enter a competition (even competing with things we had no involvement in creating them).
So, if someone likes them, we feel liked and approved of as an extension of that.

Can someone now make a really sadistic joke or something? I’ve gone too philosophical all of a sudden :D

It really wasn't. It was also meant in quite a CHEEKY SCAMP OFF-HAND NON-SERIOUS KIND OF WAY hence the "fella" and "mate" stuff, but I realise my intention is not the same as the impact. And I really am sorry to have made you feel bad, @COB. Never what I want to be doing here.
 
I want to know if any of this is aimed at me. As someone who has been adding unsavoury comments from day one and who has been actively encouraged to do so I would hope that everyone knows anything I say in the thread has to be taken with a LARGE PINCH OF SALT. If any of the poor Kate vile comments are aimed at me I find it highly hypocritical and just an excuse to HAVE A GO. I won’t take part in any more of these.

yeah and I just want to add to this and say that dub and I work tirelessly week in, week out to provide you guys with entertainment via our podcast so it’s honestly never our intention to create bad feeling
 
Yep I don’t THINK any of these complaints were aimed at me but if any were and if anyone is upset/pissed off then do drop a message (like I said last night) because bottling up feelings and making vague comments doesn’t help ANYONE!

Just to be clear, I would be just as competitive and angry if I didn’t do well, even if we were rating emojis that we were dealt randomly.
 
And I wouldn’t feel bad about it for a second.

I am actually a very together, rational girl. If you think I actually CARE where I place in an online song contest and would ever act in that way unless it was for comedy effect then it says more about you than me honey.

@dUb - I was only messing love, it was as funny as it was JARRING that's all. A bit like Ellie Diamond's comedy set.

I assumed the cuntiness all round was just accepted as PLAYED FOR LAUGHS in the results threads rather than being anything actually sinister. I'm also hoping (and assuming) Kate knows that too.

That being said, performing terribly in these things does bring out the worst in people. I wouldn't really know! :emoji_nail_care:
 
Having never had my comments misinterpreted by others, I can't empathise with dub here at all.

Oh I know, but having never (I think?) had my own votes be so crucial in a results show, building myself up to a big moment only for that to happen :D
 
Also can I point out that they're not MY fingers on the Cowcaddens "flag". Do you know how hard it was to google an image with the words Cowcaddens written on it? I just assumed there'd be an ACTUAL SIGN available.

No relevance to the station either, Lucia and The Best Boys are from Glasgow. I googled their underground and thought "lol it has cow in the name". That was it
 
Just to address the "VILE" stuff... I was irritated at the time but I'm over it now :)

Quite BIZARRE looking back that everyone was really quite forgiving when I made a couple of fuck-ups, but PILED ON LIKE VICIOUS CUNTS when they misunderstood my reasons for simply POINTING SOMETHING OUT :D

Perhaps the alcohol just kicked in in those few minutes in between
 
The reaction to the numbers thing was JUST BIZARRE.

The whole experience was FERAL.
