ASFM ButterVision: Viewing Gala 1 - TONIGHT 7pm

Evangelia providing some Mediterranean (or something a bit warm anyway) boppery. It's not QUITE there though, is it?

I don't know this Birdy song, I assume it's one of the newer ones from when she was rumoured/made up for Eurovision. I like it, but it's pretty much Birdy By Numbers, which sounds like a Harvester special. Quite nice is all I can muster right now but that's not always a bad thing

How’s this wildling with that voice and northern dialect called Sarah Parkman like she’d be from Flushing, Queens?

There are heartbreak songs that go straight to your heart, and then there are others. The line 'We were dancing' in 'Tears Don't Fall' gives me the imagery of two overly intoxicated adults dancing side by side at 5 in the morning. It's not really a song I need to have on my playlist.

I have TWO Dani Sylvia songs on My List™ that I've abandoned after She Swam Higher (which I didn't know) won, so I'll be ANNOYED if the one in this competition is both good and does well. :UngratefulBastards:

Sorry for not making this one @ButterTart,.I was being fashionably late but took it too extreme and missed the whole thing. :( will catch up though!

I'll happily join for another sync listen. Think of the content :disco:

Honestly, what an evening of GALAs. I'll get to cookin' this playlist if a bit. I haven't even peaked, piqued or peeked to see what the Celine Dion song is yet.

Had the most violent of binges and there is one mega standout - big Birdy has gone all spooked Enya mode. BT is a reliable playlisterer for openers and closers and both were worthy of the slots that I personally think are prime positions as any sync sequencer will tell you. Will delve deeper later. Oh and Hemlocke has been in my potentials for ages now - I think she has absolutely yet to hit her true stride, she's defintely one too watch and with obvious talent in spades. And the flash lights goth one. And of course Lene.

I feel like I've heard of Jes, but if it's her she's had a bit of a makeover. She looks like a grown up Sara Jorge who is still putting things from her local haberdashery shop on her face. The dreamy pop tap is still running if Jes is either the Jes or I'm thinking of or a Sara Jorge re-boot. It will take a deluge to flush this off my scorecard.

Oh Lene. She's rather famous I thought, but wikipedia is showing it was all over pretty quick. Loving that her real name is a Blue Angel namecheck.

I was tempted to throw in a little Greek myself. If we ever get a SaltVision I'm expecting a playlist with absolutely no songs I can read the titles of. I'm getting a strong whiff of an 80s sample I can't quite identify yet.

Hemlocke. Okay, I covered her already, but this is a more accessible one than the song I had tentatively fingered for asfm (it's actually better I'd say so good call song picker).

Never Come Back. A radio edit wouldn't have gone amiss. Glimmers of Telepopmusik here. Ultra cute. It's on my card. No skips so far.
