Scoring was hard, I didn’t particular rate songs I’d never heard of (luckily I didn’t like most of them particularly), but I tried not to vote too highly based on the original song.

My biggest points were for covers of songs that either improved on the originals, or took them in an equally exciting but different direction as the original.

i just assume this is the art style because they don’t bother getting past drawing in exercise books.

I have similar feelings with modern original games made in pixel art. We have the the first 15 years of gaming for that already, how about we push the envelope a bit?
