It's okay, the comments you got were a bit misleading - there always seem to be a few where the reception doesn't tally with the eventual score.

Nothing personal to her Serene Majesty but for some reason I chose Wink as my nemesis. I decided against sending it for Covervision on account of the dead eyes and not really liking it more than the idea of a Kylie cover.

not least how hard it is to get points for Japanese songs out of most of you.

it does seem like all the “oh I love all these new countries I’d never have listened to” translated to “please look ethnic but sing English” :D
 
I’m pleased I didn’t buy into the pre-results speculation (too much) that Indonesia was going to win. I really would have been Polina Gagarina.
 
She was worthy of a 20, but I had trouble cramming everyone in. I do think Italy has some corkers, so appreciated the choice to go for something less than obvious.

Congrats to T and BT, just in case I forgot to say it. I hope there will be a sequel at some point.
 
Very happy to make my debut in the top 10, thanks TACH and all who voted for her. I had heard of her before but never any solo material, for anyone who liked One Brief Moment, the parent album Gedida is well worth a listen too

This competition is really so much more pleasant when you send a song you enjoy but have no deep connection with rather than an old sentimental favourite :D I have (probably not) learned my lesson
 
Now the dust has settled I'm still so confused about where the traveller's cheque points ended up going.

No offence taken! I had genuinely never heard this song before and thought it was just a delightful little introvert jpop/italo inspired piece. The anaemic feel of the whole thing is probably why I was so pleased to find it amid all of the actual Japanese stuff: due to my lack of actual Japanese music knowledge, everything else I found just seemed like a huge disappointment compared to Sakanaction and Jun Togawa which are two of my favourite ASFM discoveries!
 
Also I am completely baffled by getting 81 points in Travellers Cheques :disco: What on Earth?

Congratulations to @Tisch , you deserved it for a beautiful song and as retribution for your often cruel treatment in this competition.

@ButterTart you have worked so hard and I felt so much empathy for you when I saw you had tagged every single voter for each set of votes. That you didn’t go to the board game cafe to have a laugh with your friends halfway through the voting was commendable. You had some bad behaviour from certain posters at one stage in this competition, but you didn’t let that steer you from keeping the competition fun. I have unfollowed Jessica Anderson from Instagram in tribute.
 
and may I just take this moment to congratulate our humble and glorious leader @ZenGiraffe on an another victorious showing. Blessed be the bounty that He delivers. I trust that my application to have @OutSynk locked in the Sports forum for the forseeable has been received?
