So was my attempt at entering Dragonette rejected because I posted after J or because the spotify link didn't work? Because if it's the latter (which I was told was the reason) what a liberty :D

I am glad the best song won and big thanks to Cheryl Baker who rose from the ashes (advertising colonic irrigation) to giving Stevie Nicks a non cocaine induced heart attack. What a record breaker.
 
Oh my god! This was NOT the contest I thought I'd grab another hit in at all!

From a brief skim through it seemed to be a regular mid table scorer without getting too many top points but I'll take it. I love what they did with it, playing with a familiar Christmas song but it's well and truly its own creation, more of a sample really. Delighted it took off!

Well done @jyxz for winning. I contemplated entering the winning song too for about 5 minutes, but much more likely for me was the Sally Shapiro one which I toyed with for ages

Will look properly later but looks like a top show @Ag, I admire anyone running this shit and not needing to be rushed to A&E afterwards!

She is a lot better thank you darling. She was back at the vet and she said that we can try cut down the meds and see how she goes. She is back to even better than how she was before the episode so I am pretty over the moon. I know she won’t last forever, but to get an other while with her is more than I could have hoped for.

You suggested to me that it might not work. I checked and it didn't work so I went with your second option.

By the time @jyxz had come to me with a working link I'd already given Dead or Alive to you, so I just went with it. Not sure if it was a better link or what was going on.

But yeah I do feel your grief. What can I say? Technology and your generosity in providing a second song worked against you.

There were a few things I noticed along the way. Yes I spotted the @SDF and @Pingu vote trade.

Also @Kate I was agog at the voting for you. I thought that song was a proper treat. Dunno if you got hurt by a second entry by them, but that was my sadface flop of the night.

Watching @RaspberrySwirl rise up and up was great fun.

Voting did seem to change a bit after the second viewing. That's a dynamic worth thinking about for future entrants, if it's done again.
 
Also, and I think I know the answer, but how did you all feel about the additional vote?

Most people did it and the response, seemed... Well drunk.

I liked it - I thought it was interesting that @HerSereneHighnessAnniFrid came 12th with the public and as high as 3rd with what was essentially a jury vote - it seemed true to that song that it might not be people’s overall favourite, but everyone thought it was pretty good.
 
Oh yeah the @Diddy debate. I'm not quite sure at your bafflement. Your song... was... well it was horrible. I mean yeah it was party, but so was Mrs Mills, Lio and Foals. I left interpretation to the players and I think everyone collectively came up with a lovely lovely assortment bag of festive treats.

I think it was you that misread the room babe.

in fairness to them, I would say that’s much more likely to happen because couples will share music and listen to the same songs, it’s almost inevitable. It’s a bit like how a song big in Sweden will become big in Norway and then Norway give Sweden and that song 12 points in Eurovision months later.

Anyway I don’t REALLY feel bad, I didn’t expect to be anywhere higher than 30 but this is the ASFM where I really HATED some songs :D I liked mind though

Yes this has happened preciously with myself and Iguana. Nothing untoward there just that we inevitably have a similar taste. I can normally have a small inkling of which is his.

Didn't happen this time though! :basil:

I liked it, though I'd probably change the maths a bit with it. I'd have used the rankings to give a proportional share of votes, the same amount given in the first half of voting. I'd be curious what impact it would have had on the final result.
