Australia 2026: Delta Goodrem - Eclipse (1 Viewer)

I think it's pretty instant and gives a fair bit to hold on to on first listen.

Does Australia have a pattern of doing significantly better with either juries or the public?
Very much juries.

They’ve always struggled with the public, who I just don’t think have fully adjusted to having Australia in this to begin with.

Yeah I can’t imagine the public will get Australia to a win, given they couldn’t with Dami and that performance.

But the song is good, and she is a brilliant performer so hopefully it sees them at least back in the top ten.

That was my suspicion, for that reason, but I didn't know if it was true, or if there was any sign of it easing now they have been in it for a decade.

There are some great notes in there, and she is stonking live, so this performance should be amazing :disco:

This is certainly an attempt for Australia to be competitive again, she could certainly at least replicate Voyager's success

It’s very much Delta Goodrem writing a song For Eurovision (having seen three contests when she was living in the UK two decades ago and Eurovision The Movie) but it’s Delta so she does a stonking good job of it and does lend it a layer of class.

Actually now I’ve mentioned it, melodically the chorus is very like Double Trouble from the movie.

I think I'll endorse what others have said.

She'll be a great performer, but the chorus is weak, I don't think she'll win, and what a missed opportunity Wings in an alternate universe.

I'm not really a Delta fan but I did enjoy her going all eighties on those two singles from a couple of years ago.

I like this as well. It is crying out for a ridiculous gay remix though. I mean...

All my life for a night like this :disco:

In a shit year, this is really pulling ahead of the pack for me right now

The fact that she basically sang this without a working in-ear. :disco:

Legend.

I'm starting to wonder whether this being slightly dated is going to be as much of a hindrance with the televote as I originally thought.

I mean, how many of this year's bunch actually sound like they're from right now? Less than a handful I'd say.

And the hot favourite is Finland which sounds even more like something from Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga than this does.

So yeah, bring on the win for Australia.

I'm seeing a televote not far off the modest but respectable haul Maman got. I almost hope for her sake she doesn't get a Nemo style practical VOTE BY ACCLAMATION from the juries, only for a lovely spiteful bit of cruelty like that (:disco:) to plonk her in somewhere like third right at the end.

I think it's almost guaranteed to be the jury vote winner but Australia have always struggled with televotes unfortunately so I think it'll probably get around 50 points from the public.

Australia have been capable of pulling in 100+ points from the public when they've really been firing on all guns, so I reckon this could do it.

It really reminds me of Sam Ryder in terms of how it builds and chucks fucking EVERYTHING at it, to the point where by the end she might as well be screaming "JUST FUCKING VOTE FOR ME YOU CUNTS" :D

Is there ANY WAY it could win?

I think it’s got a potential path through Jury Landslide, but it’s more uphill than it is for 4-5 others.

But there’s a big part of me that doesn’t want to get his hope up and entertain the possibility. I’ll settle for top 10, it’s doing what it should aka reminding people she’s very good at what she does.
