Uk-wise of course she's C-list

But in her home country she's still A-list. Unless she really plans a career relaunch here (and she hasn't tried in 15 years), why bother with us at all? Stay home scoring TV judging gigs and #1 albums, instead of being insulted by Craig Revel-Horwood and made to spend time in Blackpool?
 
And it's not really like many people get a significant career boost from Strictly anyway, is it? Unless she was planning relocate here, I really don't see why she would bother.

I can't think of anybody in the pop world who has benefitted from it

The best I can come up is the very very small bump Sophie E-B got with her Russian folk album, but certainly nothing in the last decade

100% - I love it but without her this would’ve been 14th with a bullet.

As we always say: she’s very much Celine’s best understudy. Looking forward to seeing her in July.
 
I would say Strictly did great things for Sophie Ellis Bextor and Louise in terms of profile raising before they both made musical comebacks. Not that Sophie had really been anywhere, but it helped usher in the second chapter of her career after she was looking like a bit of a spent force in pop terms.

Conversely, as I recently ranted on @dUb's podcast, I do blame Strictly for killing the momentum Emma Bunton had achieved with her second album, as they foolishly rushed the Life In Mono album release to cash in on her Strictly run when it clearly wasn't ready yet.

For Delta I think it'd be a good career move at this stage. If she's good enough to last a decent stretch, it's basically free promo for her album and a UK tour, the former of which at least I imagine is still more profitable than what she'd be able to sell if she only released in Australia. How much does it take to get a #1 album there now? I wouldn't be surprised if it was close to 3 figures on some weeks, given the population difference.
 
I was going to say SEB too- it definitely helped redefine her career for sure.
 
Strictly is also a good pathway to West End roles like Roxie off Chicago and Jenny from 2:22: A Ghost Story.

She tours pretty extensively already in Europe doesn’t she? Which I imagine she will now be able to continue to do even moreso. Strictly does sort of feel unnecessary at this stage, and probably less lucrative at least this year with her profile raised and the album on its way.

I love her turn to the camera for "one kiss" in that :disco: She didn't do that in the semi.
 
She brought some little stairs, her mini piano, vocals and performance. Queen.

Loved that extended version of the Steve Anderson mix too.
 
I see she was a special guest of L*l* at the RAH. It seems she did Eclipse (thankfully solo) and Boom Bang-a-Bang (unfortunately not solo).

Let's call it a minor misstep for now.
 
What a woman. Made 4 violins + piano just as dramatic as the Vienna get up.
 
I watched the closing ceremony. I'm sorry to say her bit went on WAY too long.
