Is this a Skinamarink sequel? I'll pass (until some review hails it as "the scariest movie since _____". Then I'll watch it and give out because it's actually not scary at all).

Ooh I've heard about this and watched a fair few videos on that particularly yellow liminal space. Rave reviews eh? Colour me interested.
 
I’m dubious about this. Is this going to be another Obsession, where it gets amazing ratings from people but it’s ultimately a piece of nothing? I have such a different reaction to modern Horrors compared to most people and this trailer is very hard to read.
 
This is going to be marmite and I'm pretty sure I'll hate it. I'm waiting for this to hit streaming. From what I've heard it goes off the rails in the second half. I fell for the hype around Hokum and Obsession and both were just ok, don't need another disappointment.
 
I loved that. It's been a very long time since I've seen a film that genuinely had me on edge. So much horrifying imagery.
 
Oh my god. What an ending. So simple and without fanfare. I applaud.

So I don't think this will work with a re-watch. It's a one and done for me. And yes I will be here for a sequel. I'm giving it a 7.

I saw this yesterday and of my party of 4, I was the only one that liked it. Everyone else thought it was complete nonsense, so yeah, you are probably right about what you'll think of it.

I went in pretty blind to the whole world and don't feel that detracted from my enjoyment at all. The set design was amazing for what is, essentially, yellow corridors, and the atmosphere built nicely throughout.

LOVED that the main monster was a little goofy whilst also still being scary. And my favourite scene was easily when he cut the hair off the thing to put it on the psychologist for a bit of roleplay. GRIM and CAMP at the same time!

I'm now catching up on some of the YouTube stuff. I have no idea how this has passed me by before now, it's right up my street
 
Took a while to get going, but what a ride in the end. The use of the icky custard yellow on the walls & the artificial fluorescent lighting added so much to the feel of being constantly disconcerted. I feel you could interpret the events in multiple ways - from a depiction of a mental health crisis to a critique of soul sucking corporate culture - so it would definitely reward a rewatch. Thoroughly here for whatever director Kane Parsons comes up with next.

Really enjoyed this. It was refreshing to see a film that you had to think about :basil:
 
I think that says more about the types of films I've been choosing to watch lately than anything else :square:

But yeah, a thinker! And some wonderfully fucked up visuals and nightmarish environments. Keen to see more.

It did give me the sense of an art installation more than a RIP-ROARING TIME AT THE MOVIES and that's not for everyone.
 
This is probably my favourite of his original Backrooms videos, some of which was incorporated into the film. Quite incredible that it's all VFX too.

I haven’t even seen it, but assumed this would be my reaction.
 
I just saw the Special edition with extra, footage, which runs after the credits, not really worth sitting there for 15 minutes whilst people figure out why the Everything Must Go signs are half wedged in the floor.
 
This was the closest thing to an earth shattering ego disolving k-hole I’ve ever scene. No idea what the plot was but visually i loved it
