I’m glad you placed them in chronological order. I only have Masquerade on vinyl. Everything else on cd but I switched to vinyl and streaming a couple of years ago as I just don’t have the space for my cds to expand further.

It actually could have been a lot more- I had all the originals on vinyl but when HMV had the new coloured editions going for a tenner each, I traded them in and flogged the originals on Discogs. I only kept Wow! because it's the version with a second disc of remixes.

I am regretting getting rid of my 12"s in a "I don't have enough room and I don't need 12" singles" fit a few years back, though.

I only see If and Crazy from Exotica :confused:

I'm assuming that Movin On and Last Thing On My Mind are new recordings, I feel that If might have benefited most from that treatment.

I've just realised that the only album track included from the London years is I Could Be Persuaded. The complete randomness :D

Of the missing hits Na Na Hey Hey and Nathan Jones are the two setlist staples I think.

I know we do like to make much of their preference for self-penned material, bit minor hit A Trick of the Night does make the cut.

Considering the focus of the collection, Love, Leave, Forget's exclusion is the biggest oversight for me. It deserves a wider airing.

I do like it, but I don’t think it is one of their stronger singles. Lyrically it feels excessively drippy.

Anyway, I am definitely in for the three CD bundle. The London show being midweek at the beginning of April is terrible timing for me :(

The single seems to have gone down well with people who are interested but yes, it felt a bit “AI write me some inspiring lyrics”.

I’m going for the same order, the vinyl is tempting too.

Anyway page 2 already. A hit.

I didn’t actually get around to listening to the new song today. Stupidly, considering I properly hammered lots of Nana vinyl.
 
UGH! I got through really quickly in the presale queue (FOR ONCE) and it assigned me seats in the ROYAL FUCKING CIRCLE and wouldn't let me get rid of them so kicked me out. Now am back in the queue again.

I really do HATE buying tickets.

Oh I didn’t apply yet as I have to decide if I’d rather see them midweek or Nerina Pallot playing the ‘Fires’ album at the Palladium on the Saturday of the following week before booking flights. They should swap nights.
 
Work at that time of year makes it pretty much impossible for me to go, so I have just about resigned myself to that :(

Out of morbid curiosity this morning I did have a look at tickets and got grand circle. However I looked a little later and the pre-sale then directed to the Palladium website where you can select seats yourselves and there were plenty of stalls seats... the fuckery.

Shame to only get two songs then. Another new song or two would have been nice.

They have stepped things up the last few years, ever since the reunion with Siobhan really. Obviously In Stereo was recorded over a long period of time (mainly I think) before the trio tour but since then they have done quite a bit by their standards.

I think the comfortable relationship they have with Ian is key, and also releasing independently suits them.
 
They've announced a second Palladium date due to the usual phenomenonal demand on Thursday 4th, which I did not anticipate - how little faith I have!

Still no good for me though...
 
I got tickets to the second date on the Thursday, up top but in the front row :disco: I do love the palladium and have never seen them properly before :disco:
 
I've not found myself returning to Feel The Love in the same way as say Favourite or Masquerade. Hoping Supernova is a STORMER
 
I found myself listening to them on an interview podcast with TWIGGY on 'Tea with Twiggy' or something the other night, around the time of the release of Masquerade.

Twiggy has got a rather odd and quite amusing/intimidating way of interviewing. She sounded half authoritarian teacher, half slightly drunk non-plussed Auntie.

'So, you both met at Fashion school, DID YA?' 'The record company didn't send me the ALBAM in time, so i've only listened to the single, well, that was GORGEOUS' 'Write your own stuff, DO YOU?'

Was all quite amusing :D
 
Feel The Love enters the Radio 2 playlist this week on the C list.

I listened to their interview on the Gaby Roslin podcast this week. Gaby is almost overwhelmingly enthusiastic, but I do love how much Keren seems to enjoy being in Bananarama these days.

I listened to it was a nice listen. Gaby Roslin always fawns over the guests but I guess that's part of the podcast, she's very much like OMG we have been besties for 20 plus years to every guest, she's got a lot of Besties! ok Gabs calm down love, get back to shopping in your wardrobe
 
I've been listening to Crazy this week. It wasn't produced by the same guy as most of Exotica and has aged rather well. A moody, sultry gem and I like the harmonies:

They’ve added a Saturday date to the Palladium :disco: as the first two shows have sold out. I didn’t expect that for a Duorama show to be honest.

 
That suits much better.

I'm also very pleasantly surprised at just how well they've done with these shows, though the other two nights don't appear to be completely sold out (there are some seats left at the back in the rafters).
 
I bought the new Classic Pop magazine for the new interview. They apparently weren't sure how many new songs to put on Glorious (I would have said a number bigger than two) and don't have any plans for the other new songs... "They'll pop up somewhere or they won't."

They didn't like the hook of Feel The Love because it sounded like the Casualty theme so it was reworked. Supernova is apparently 'equally ecstatic'.

A query about the missing hits on the tracklisting was not well received. The piece claims it is a ten songs per decade split but that doesn't quite match up.
 
Supernova got its first play on Radio 2 a little while ago.

It has the Heart of Glass intro sound then moves into Ian Masterson big synth production territory. More in line with the last album than Feel the Love, and I prefer it.
 


It is a very nice production job but the lyrics feel quite exposed by them being sung... so... slowly...

I remember that Sara mentioned that when writing together for Masquerade Alice would tell her if a line was too clichéd. Maybe that was needed here, though I would definitely still take it over the last single.
