So of course they are playing the digital deluxe game too. One on Townsend and TWO on Apple: one includes a Luke Mornay Sunset Dub of More Than Physical and the other this unreleased, apparently early version of Do Not Disturb:

 
I've not bought a single one of these. It just feels like ANOTHER rotten cash-in.
 
My order arrived. I got number 0001 of the bonus CD single which indeed has the full versions of the new remixes plus some other mixes/dubs not on the 3CD.

The Keren True Confessions bonus is an interview which goes over a quarter of an hour, which is more than I expected. The extra track is Ghost, but I wasn't really holding out much hope for anything special there. Unfortunately, something appears to have gone tits up because Keren's interview appears on the CDs for Sara and Siobhan as well. OOPS :D

I haven't bought any of the vinyl variants as I have the LP once and that is fine for me. In terms of the CDs, fuck up aside, the individual member CDs are basic card sleeves, but the 3CD is quite nicely done. No sleeve notes though and those hard book deluxes they used to do for reissues were so much nicer.

The Promised Land extended mix is very enjoyable (TAKE! ME!), Vicious Circle is a nice three minutes that isn't flattered by being dragged out.

I wonder why Too Much of a Good Thing does not appear, considering they apparently acquiesced to Vicious Circle. They have a writing credit on the former (we know how they like those) and it was on the original tracklisting before getting cut for More Than Physical. Presumably one of them said they don't like it and that was it, but it would have been nice if it was on there.

Promised Land, Ready or Not and the title track are the best album tracks on True Confessions I think. Maybe not smash hits but they could have passed as singles if circumstances were different.

Keren confessed she doesn't really like In a Perfect World or A Cut Above the Rest. Do Not Disturb escaped comment.
 
Midweek #3, which is absolutely insane, but surely a sign that sales are in the toilet. It won't last, of course, but hopefully should chart well enough and outdo the original peak (which was only #46).

Don't see them stopping the ridiculous multiformatting anytime soon then!
 
From #46 for the original release to Top 10 in 2026 would be an incredible result! Gotta admire their hustle/fleecing skills!
 
The Weeknd did 8k at number 10 last week. You have to think all their pre-orders are already baked in so that would probably be a stretch, but very safe for top 20.

The new incarnation of London Records are very skilled in marketing and they are more than happy to play in the multi-formatting sandpit. That's really funny about the Keren interview tho', a head will roll for that, no doubt.
 
I’m glad to see Bananarama are playing and doing well at the chart game too but I wonder if that individually signed CD error is significant enough to be costly and whether they’ll reprint Sara and Siobhan’s, offer some sort of refund or try to ignore it.
 
They seem to be ignoring it so far, but they'll have to send out corrected CDs surely?

To be fair I haven't bothered to email them yet.
 
Is there anything about replacement that could affect a chart position? Cause those first versions are faulty? Maybe they're waiting for that.
 
Anyway, gave the album a chart-friendly stream this morning. It still slaps in 2026. Just wish they'd given us a lovely vinyl boxset with it all on, as I'd have definitely snapped for that, but then we've been here with me banging on about this before. ANYHOO.

You do have to think where they thought the singles were coming from, though. It furrows down the more serious pop side of things started with Bananarama, but without the stone cold hits on it- well, other than Venus, of course. Having not played it in a while, I'd forgotten how tepid More Than Physical was in its album version compared to the single remix.
 
Great news, though, would be DEEPLY FABULOUS if it could finally go top ten.

Say, what, 15k or so sales for a reissue when all told can’t be that bad a money spinner.

Incredible. And if you think that the likes of Kylie could only just scrape the top 100 with recent (albeit bare bones) reissues, it's a remarkable result.
 
And far outplaces the Girls Aloud album reissues... admittedly they had far fewer variants and Bananarama's fanbase will lean more (than) physical.

I look forward to more of the same for WOW!
 
I wonder what there is left for Wow!? I presume they're not going to dig out You Give Love A Bad Name or Changes or any of the post-Wow SAW stuff they ditched any time soon...

I wish they weren't so averse to letting stuff out of the vault.

It is messy one to compile bonus tracks for, with the personnel change and then Nathan Jones being on the album but a GHC single.

They may include the Jacquie stuff but I guess it will be similar to the Demon version minus Reason For Living of course, plus new mixes.
 
I've been in the mood for Ready or Not this afternoon. The Pettibone/Forest mix is great, though this edit handily curtails the possibly slightly excessive two minute instrumental break:
