Best places to live?

Objectively I'd like

Somewhere where making friends is easy
Somewhere LGBTIQ+ friendly (and active)
Somewhere not hyper big and bustling but not dead quiet
Somewhere with easy access to nature
Somewhere where running is easy (and ideally cycling)
Somewhere with a big arts scene (writing, theatre, storytelling etc)

Sounds like Manchester then. Or Bristol at a push.

Slovenia is lovely by the way.

Obviously James Joyce was heavily inspired by Slovenia when he lived in Trieste (it's right on the border) and there's a strong art scene in that part of Italy isn't there.

So yeah.

Perhaps Slovenia if you are not stuck with the UK.

Is it really?

There are oft jobs there and I do like the sunshine and the idea of a ferry to the islands.
It's much nicer now than what it was when I was growing up and it does have one of the best climates in the country. And it's true that it's really close to all kinds of landscapes, forests, mountains, lakes, beaches, islands etc. My bf loves to take his camera and photograph the city for hours. I personally like the countryside and small towns much much more.

By the way today was a shitty day everywhere all the way from village to the island with the exception of one place.

Yes you guessed it.

I'm quite seriously considering a move up the coast if I find a job either based or which allows me to work remotely.

It would be nice to have the sea beside me and to take up surfing properly. And I could always come home and stay at my parents or boyf's when I need the city lights.
