Best SG Christmas No.1

My favourite in the context of Christmas number ones is...

I think Goodbye is my favourite song of the three. 2 Become 1 feels more wintery and seasonal though.

Too Much I appreciate more in time but that might be because I've played out the other two.

2 Become 1 was everything Christmas 1996.

That and One and One

And Unbreak My Heart

It holds the fondest memories.

Too Much was total meh. Not for me.

Goodbye was cute and easily completed their trio of top tier power ballads (2B1 and VF being the others).

2 Become 1 or Goodbye for me. They're two of my favourite SG songs

I always found Too Much a little weak by comparison

Too Much got lucky it got to #1. At the height of their fame, they had another #1 with SUYL, the album was about to be released along with the movie but it's not even their best song :(

2 Become 1 for me as it was at a point when everything they touched turned to gold, and it was just such a fabulous time for a female pop group.

2 Become 1 was the one that turned me Spicy. I liked the idea of them more than the execution before that but it was obvious on one listen that 2 Become 1 was a perfect pop ballad and the production was excellent. I fell straight for it.

I always respected that in 2 Become 1 they realised their "mistake" in "boys and girls look good together" and lopped it off. Plus finally giving Victoria something to do...

They all look amazing in the video too. These things mattered in the pop universe of the mid 90s, especially given that it was The Box that effectively broke Wannabe. But it would have been a fruitless endeavour without such a great song.

Goodbye is to me a more sophisticated composition and ultimately a better song than the other two but I think nostalgia and the glow around that magical first era has me leaning towards 2 Become 1

Too Much has its charms but is on a different (lower) level

Agree with the general consensus.

My main problem with Too Much, other than it simply not being as good as the other two, is that it really brings out some of the least pleasant aspects of Mel C's voice.

It was so obvious SpiceWorld was largely tailored to show off Mel C's voice by giving her adlibs (And the hard bits) in almost every single song.

Funnily enough if I HAD to choose I’d say these were their 3 best songs.

I hadn't realised Bob Monkhouse was still alive to see 2 Become 1 being released as a single.

Just listened to Goodbye and I must admit it just hits you in the feels more than the other 2 so I am changing my vote.
