CBS has released a statement about a homophobic rant by Jeff Schroeder in the Big Brother house.

Schroeder made the remarks during a discussion about Harry Potter on Tuesday. The 33-year-old directly linked gay people to paedophiles, claiming that it was inappropriate for author JK Rowling to make the character Dumbledore, Harry Potter's headmaster, gay.

"He's in school with little kids! You don't want to make that guy gay!" said Schroeder.

"I don't think it's the right thing to have a kids' book, and to have the headmaster that's locked away in this magical land, to be gay. That isn't the right kind of writing to do."

When he was challenged by houseguest Kalia Booker, who has a gay sister, he responded: "Don't start with that f**king s**t! Don't tell me the right answer for f**king TV!

"I don't give a f**k if your little sister is gay!"

CBS insisted that Schroeder's comments were not representative of anyone at the network.

"Big Brother is a reality show about watching a group of people who have no privacy 24/7 - and seeing every moment of their lives," the network said in a statement.

"At times, the houseguests make comments, reveal prejudices and other beliefs that we do not condone.

"Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by a houseguest appearing on Big Brother, either on any live feed from the house or the broadcast, are those of the individual(s) speaking and do not represent the views or opinions of CBS or the producers of the programme."

Guessing this thread is dead in the water? I've given up watching the full episodes and just been reading live feed discussion threads. I hope they DO put one of the eliminated houseguests back in...preferably the one that's leaving tonight.
 
I'm still all over it. I only enjoy the edited episodes though, they really are rather entertaining. Hope Cassi doesn't go but she obv will :(
 
Cassi was my early favourite *sigh* I wish Dani would work with her and Dom to get rid of J/J and B/R but at the VERY least a newbie needs to be HoH after tonight. I'll probably still watch the live show at some point tomorrow in work but there's zero suspense over the vote.
 
Had Jordan and That Prick Jeff backdoored Brendon and Rachel it would have been SHIT-THE-BED-AMAZING!

I adore Jordan but the rest of that foursome can all DO ONE.

I wish Cassi wasn't probably going, but then I like Shelley as well.

Jordan really should have nominated Brenchel, or Lawon and Kalia, I could have coped with that.
 
Jordan is fine minus Jeff, but as a twosome they've already had their fair share of CBS reality show airtime so I wouldn't mind if they both got the boot. Sucks that Jordan and Cassi seem to get on so well, but it didn't help with the replacement noms.

I can only hope that the fact Keith has been in sequester since his eviction means they WILL be putting one of the first 4 evictees back in the house. If they do, I don't think viewers will be voting for Keith or ANY other newbie except Cassi [assuming one goes next week + the week after]. Then again maybe the public would put back in a veteran if that's an option :evil:

This show has had a FABULOUS week. I LOVED the dramz during the eviction ep and the latest episode' HoH crowning and nominations were GREAT!

I love the tiny clips they show just before the opening credits every episode, eg Rachel retching.
 
Yeah I'm back watching the full CBS episodes now since last Thursday -- still reading live feed discussion but Sunday's show with the full HOH competition was great! I'm quite happy with the nominations as they currently stand too. Here's hoping Julie will formally announce a returning houseguest on Thursday...apparently they're ALL talking about it inside the house and are convinced someone is coming back in!

Since the Veto ceremony was last night's CBS show, we can say it's Jordan right? I wouldn't mind if she left either, but I can't see Brendan staying!

I think Dom pissed away his game so yeah I'd rather see Cassi back...especially if Rachel is the one she has to compete against next week :D
 
Yeah loved it! YAYAYAYAY at Rachel not being HoH. PLEASE BABY JESUS let Cassi come back next week, although I think I'd rather Rachel was still in the house with her, but I can see Rachel being 'evicted' and then beating whoever it is (Cassi) she has to battle against. Or it could be Brendon I suppose.

The Brendon returning episode has to be one of the most sickening episodes of BBUSA I've ever watched :( Seriously what were America thinking??? I trust everyone on here is Team Danielle (purely by default as everyone else is shit) Was half tempted to give up if I didn't read dUb's spoiler

I've been DELIBERATING whether to watch it or not. Is it really any good? I mean, for me to actually watch it online it needs to be something.
 
I've been using Hola Unblocker to watch it 'legitimately' on the CBS site so it's no hassle whatsoever.

It's the usual too-crowded start so too early to tell. There's certainly no Britney in terms of amazing Diary Room entries, but I'm enjoying it thus far.
