Big Brother USA

I got a few episodes behind but am fully caught up now. Da'vonne winning her first ever competition truly was the highlight, I almost shed a few tears.

Christmas has quickly become one of the most detestable of all time since having power. Shame, her baby punishment was probably the most enjoyable thing this season before last week.

Da'vonne finally winning a comp was a moment

She's gone this week though, and I cannot bear to watch the shower of shits that remain so I'll just stick to Thursday episodes for the remainder

Does anyone check out the RHAP coverage on YouTube/podcast? They've been one of the few saving graces of this cursed season

Is it better or worse than the Big Brother where they were all so odious they made jokes about suicide, frigged each other off blatantly on camera and two of them ended up in prison?

I had enough too after last night. Can Tyler just DIE? Ugh.

And BBCAN inspiration for the US one with the triple eviction. :disco:

Was that the one winter season? I'd take that over this, which is just a depressing chain of the white majority alliance being in power LITERALLY ALL THE TIME and every fun person, interesting person and person of colour picked off one by one.

Think so yeah. It was an "extra" season they threw in due to the writers strike in the US and as such the cast they cobbled together we're genuinely HORRIBLE people. Not a single likeable one in the bunch except for Queen Sheila :disco:

My preferences to win out of the final 5 (I've now seen up to the final 4 veto but didn't think to post this sooner)

Nicole
Enzo
Cody
- turning the TV off before Julie Chen Moonves has the chance to reveal the result and then pretending the season never existed -
Memphis or Christmas

I wasn't a Nicole fan on BB18 but she's re-grown on me and becoming the first two-time winner would be iconic. Cody would very much make a deserving winner but how dull a result would that be, it could've been predicted from so early on.

Quite upset and jealous of Frankie Grande right now

The last season was abandoned mid-way through due to COVID, and the house this year is the same as that one, but post-apocalyptic/overgrown with weeds, etc. Which is a great idea

Anyone up for getting involved in the Canadian series? It's back on the 3rd of March, sponsored by TikTok :D

I’ll probably be watching! I got into the American version during covid and I’ve heard good things about the Canadian ones

BBCAN has really great series and some terrible ones, but I'll give it a go.

Just watched the video again. QUEEN IKA milking her moment with an extended soliloquy, pretending to shred the cheque and then pissing herself while she shreds the letters :D:disco:

And the WAILS on the inside :D:D

I just watched it and remembered how iconic it was! Canada always comes good with the women they cast, so many queens! The US .. not so much! :oi:

I can't remember if it was Moopy I first saw this clip on, or somewhere else, but the only thing I know about Big Brother Canada (apart from Big Beardy Kenny's nudes) is when this girl have her winning vote to the wrong contestant thus granting her the win over her actual friend. :D

Quite long but amazing television!

Oh yes I post that whenever I get the chance :D Amazing

Someone rather unpopular just got evicted from Big Brother Brazil and I saw this on Reddit:

Karol Conka just got evicted from Big Brother Brazil with 99,17% of the votes.
There are people litterally lighting fireworks in my city LOOOOL.
Its like if we won the world cup.
I have never seen, ever, someone be so universally hated in my life. Like, my gay cousins, my coservative bolsonaro voter aunt, comunist uncle, everyfucking body hates this bitch lol.
Im almost a little bit sorry for her, but like, she kind of deserves it.

I miss Big Brother having that kind of impact! At least it still happens somewhere :durst:

I think I've been sold on watching BBCAN. Though it seems like a very different show to BBUK
Definitely is. Have you seen any of the US show? It follows that format, so it's purely strategic with the housemates voting each other off, with limited/zero audience input. Only 3 episodes a week too so easier to keep up with

No, and I've only ever seen the UK one

Oh right! The similarity is that it's strangers living in a house being filmed - and in the US and Canada they still do 24/7 live feeds - but the edited shows are different. Every week there's a Head of Household who nominates two people for eviction, they can take themselves off the chopping block if they win a competition but otherwise one of them will go, based on the votes of the other housemates. So it's different but more strategic and people play up to the cameras a lot less (in theory)

I’ve never seen the UK version, but I kind of assumed they were all the same. Do they not have the live feeds?

Only in the early days. In the second half of its run they were done away with for budget reasons I suppose. :zombie:

Also the UK show was on every day, and all housemates nominated each other for eviction with the public deciding who had to leave. That's the 'classic' format and is used basically everywhere except North America and, recently, Australia which has kind of another new format.

And what the UK format leads to is BAYING MOBS outside the house booing and chanting for people to leave which can be fun in an old Moopy kind of way

FOR EXAMPLE:

Oh that would completely change the dynamic if the public could vote. Im gonna watch that after work. It sounds interesting (and kind of sad for the person who is being yelled at)

Yeah, a completely different game! They were thrown to the wolves upon eviction really :side-eye:

This one was about as dramatic as it got... at the peak of its popularity too. It's quite a fun watch!

The last BBCAN series was such a mess, thank god it was cancelled just when they were going to evict the only interesting character. Also in this series one of the most memorable moments of any BB:

OMG at this. The horrible booing and her dancing and chanting her own name!

Did anyone watch it? Not sure about the Teams twist, to be honest. But well done Canada for making team captains (and therefore safe for the week) the 2 houseguests that would be most likely first boot, so that's good for a change.

I won't be able to watch until tonight, but I am very excited for a new BB season

I think it's a pretty good group. Wasn't too interested in the team setup but it might lead to some interesting strategic things?!

I'm much more into the BB podcast drama. I've been following the Rob Has A Podcast coverage for years as it's been excellent, but one of my favourite correspondents Brent Wolgamott (who also happens to be the sex worker from The Staircase) was fired recently for tweeting some stuff about former housemates that they took exception to/turned out to be wrong/whatever. Anyway now he's on a different podcast, and there's been a backlash against RHAP for letting him go, and it's all quite juicy basically.

Anyone know what I'm on about? :side-eye:
