Bitter Tuesday writes hateful tags

My mum (and Zelda Fitzgerald apparently) always says only boring people get bored.

I think she might not stand by that at the moment.

In other exciting night shift news, people are arguing about the FALKLANDS WAR on the village group on Facebook :D
 
I tried getting up about half an hour ago, but didn't think much of it, so came back to bed. Much nicer.

Presumably the days you were told to be off won't count in terms of your sickness record?
 
I struggled this morning. Woke at 5:30 as usual, couldn’t be bothered exercising so sat watching videos of old athletics championships on YouTube for 2.5 hours. There’s an irony in here somewhere...

It was the same with us - I was paid for my self-isolation and it wasn't counted as an absence!
 
They also don't want people dragging themselves in with symptoms because they were already on the border of a disciplinary or had recently had one - this is how most colds etc get into our office..."oh, I can't take the day off...I'll get in trouble!" *cough, sneeze, infect*
 
Also, do we know, given the title, that Chlammy has decided to take a break from Moopy after that bitter tag fest yesterday?

Just thought SOME people might like to know in case they want to delete any before it inevitably kicks off about it :eyes:

I talked about this with him yesterday, we were hoping to discourage any more tags being made without there being any fuss. I don’t think it was the content of the tags that was the issue so deleting them wouldn’t have been appropriate, it was the sheer volume.
 
I'm sure he'll be back. Moopy can be intense at the moment, but that's just everything right now.

He said yesterday he was considering taking a break, I didn’t realise he meant immediately. He knows I’ve spoken to you and Octy about it privately so it’s not like we’re just ignoring his concerns.
I think things are intense all round, coming on here is actually a stress reliever for me at the minute so I’d hope other people could see it that way.
 
When I was admin, we bought a plug-in for the site that showed who posts tags and it just never gets used now.

I recall certain posters complaining that not being able to insult people in tags without getting called out for it was "ruining Moopy" or some bollocks like that, so there you go. Fuck em (and come back @Chlammy)

That's a shame, I didn't realise it was time limited.

I will say that going after people in tags is completely spineless and I can definitely remember seeing a worse one in that Jeff Goldblum vs Islam topic (unsurprisingly deleted now)
 
I agree that tags can get a bit brutal sometimes but it should be in the T&Cs of signing up to not take them seriously or something. It's like going to paintball and complaining it hurts.

I think it may have been me. It’s just spineless bullying- and the people deleting the tags showed that yesterday.

Personally, I don’t use tags at all, and a comedy one is great, but I don’t think it’s worth the misery they cause to some. I also don’t think it’s what Moopy is about- either the “old bitchy Moopy” where bitching was always done face to face and particularly not what Moopy should be in 2020. It makes me very uncomfortable.
 
Perhaps a more 2020 woke solution would be for individual users to hide them if they don't want to see them?

But how can you judge what's going to hurt someone? That's not your right.

I was always a fan of Moopy being a free for all, but I do think things have changed and it's fucking SPINELESS to hide behind tags and not get called out on it or give the person the chance to respond. I have a VERY thick skin and I can generally take the vilest of jokes, but there have been tags that have hurt me in the past. Fuck knows what it does to people who are less resiliant.

We talked about that yesterday, Indie reckons it’s expired. To be honest, unless tags are completey beyond the pale I’m not really into singling people out because we’re all old enough to know that if a problem is raised, exacerbating it further would be a shit idea.
Having said that, @Kate has confessed so I suggest we all shun and sneer at her like society does to key workers who aren’t part of the NHS.
 
It's nothing to do with being woke, if you want to insult someone, give them the right to reply. These people have no balls.
