I love this one, Splendor.
It’s a nice quick 30 minute game, quite strategic, you need to always think a few moves ahead

They need to bring back Hero Quest. I think it was just MB's simplified take on Dungeons & Dragons / Warcraft with heavy plagiarism of Tolkien, but I LOVED IT.

Micro Macro (this seems really fun, it's a big picture of a city and you have to try and spot little storylines happening)

I haven't played any of those yet because my housemate doesn't really like board games

I do like the look of Micro Macro.

It could be a different one! But the one I have has these KAZOOS that you blow into. Could just skip that bit or HUM INSTEAD I suppose

Is Ticket To Ride decent for two players? I ended up in a board game cafe the other night as it was the only place open other than a pub, and I was quite intrigued.

it can be done but it's more fun with 3 or 4. I love Ticket to Ride ANYWAY though. every time I play it and try to explain the rules to someone it sounds like the most horrendously complex game ever but as soon as you get started it's easy.
