I like it. That last breath of bubblegum pop in 2000 was everything.
 
All her songs are novelties. Lucky is just more transparently novel I think.

First time I genuinely thought that she should have been a one album flash in the pan artist, and this was just ridiculous. I still think she should have had the career of Tiffany and everyone would have been better for it.
 
It’s sickly-sweet, almost childish. Didn’t particularly like at it at the time but nostalgia has done an amazing job and I really don’t mind it now. Bop!

I always wished Tiffany had the career of Britney!

Anyway, Lucky is easily in my top 3 Britney songs of all-time!
 
A moment for the iconic TOTP performance that's inexplicably edited to make it look like she's watching herself from the audience.

 
Stronger is the only keeper from this amped up more of the same album. I do concede that both Oops and this stand out as deserved singles.
 
Don’t Go Knockin’ on My Door should have been a single too, though. I get why they went with DLMBTLTK as they were trying to mature her image a bit.
 
I remember quite a big deal being made of the fact that DLMBTLTK was written by Shania Twain and Mutt Lange at the time. It really is quite dull though.
 
i (predictably) love DLMBLTK (what an annoying acronym) but it wasn’t a hit. She couldn’t really put out a hit ballad until Everytime, which she never replicated.
 
It's a masterpiece. The first seven singles that kick-started her career (in ths UK) were just *chef's kiss*.
 
I think Lucky might just be the WORST MOST DISGUSTING song by a non paedophile ever!
 
I loved it at the time, but she had much better songs on the album. I get that they wanted to keep the Max Martin streak of singles, but they could have showcased a different side of hers with 'Don't Go Knocking' or 'Satisfaction.' I remember even liking What U See over this even if it's the SAME OLD Max Martin tat.
 
Oh What U See is a complete re-heat. Even if I'm not that girl (and not yet that woman) for Lucky, I think it absolutely opened up her pop kaleidoscope: different and yet perfectly mirroring the same objective as her other pop slices.
 
One of her best, along with Everytime. I can see why it would be divisive though
 
Her team really were sick making her lip sync to this sadistic version while enslaving her in Vegas of all places
