I really think this could have been the sixth and final single from True Blue and it would have been an easy top 10 for her with a suitably fun video had Who's That Girl not happened.

Prominently remixed and featured in the '87 You Can Dance compilation.

Anyway it's not been played live properly since 1990 but snippets have made the odd appearance as part of a megamix etc. in live sets.

I've always loved it. And in fact I think it's probably one of her stand-out '80s album tracks.

It definitely sounds like one of the singles now when you listen to the 'True blue' album.

It’s the strongest of the True Blue album tracks by a mile, of course. It would have been a natural 6th single. But I’m not sure they wanted to rush it out before “Who’s That Girl”, which only came a few months after “La Isla Bonita”.

I always thought it was alright rather than great but, let's face it, anything off True Blue would have been a massive hit at that point- even Jimmy Jimmy.

That now makes me think back to the fact that actually Love Makes The World Go Round was the first TB song to be debuted at Live Aid!
That could have also been a single
Had she been a Michael Jackson-type she would and could have released every song as a single. Imagine that!

I’m still always a tiny bit surprised that True Blue is her biggest selling album. Of course she was more than huge at that time but I always feel Like A Prayer was THE era, maybe it’s just because I remember it better.

Nah - True Blue was definitely her biggest era commercially
LAP was a relative commercial dip but
Blond Ambition / TIC / Dick Tracy era was probably her absolute zenith as a pop culture phenomenon
