Sad to hear. I'm not deeply entrenched in their back catalogue but the big hits were fucking brilliant.

Pet Sounds really is a stunner of an album - and even much of the silly stuff about surfin' and Santa that the Beach Boys produced is great.

My thoughts with Wilson Phillips at this difficult time.

I haven't gone beyond the greatest hits but they are indeed great.

I was totally underwhelmed by Pet Sounds but he had an amazing knack for a tune.

To be honest, the most exposure I had to him was from Wilson Phillips. "Flesh And Blood" made me look him up, and then his turn on California was the next thing I heard about him.

It's God Only Knows I've had in my head all day. The harmonies in the end sequence are utterly sublime. Teenage symphonies to God, indeed.
